Guest guest
It struck me around the same time and I researched it a lot. Apparently at that point the baby is pushing up on your stomach enough to prevent the flap that closes it off from your esophagus from closing properly. Milk or cream before bed helped me, as did propping myself up to sleep. Hope that helps!! -Lana On Wed, Feb 25, 2009 at 3:43 PM, penciloid <hoppythetoad@...> wrote: > Any tips for preventing heartburn in pregnancy? Guest guest
Almond yes, almonds. Cultured dairy- yogurt or kefir, and probiotics in a pinch, worked better for me than just cream, but the cream is very soothing and helps keep the heartburn down longest. For me, cream peeled off the top of yogurt or kefir was the best, so soothing. . . . Be aware that the heartburn can be other things. I carried my first really high, and so assumed the heartburn was just fetal esophageal pressure. With the second, heartburn started before I knew I was pregnant, and then never left after she was born. Turned out to be gluten intolerance. . . .
