Bennie is right on the dot. , Thanks : ) I better be, I worked in Managed Care as a Medical Service Officer counseling Veterans on availability of care and in the Medical Logistics Office that maintain TENS and distribute them. As you said, all it takes is a prescription form from your physical therapist as they want someone to instruct you on the use, care, and placement on effected areas appropriately and follow you for progress. It is amazing what you can get if you know the right people or right places to go to and I spent many years finding out and I still research to find out information. The VA has a great site and Veteran contacts that will assist you. Thanks for encouraging to go there. Even though we are in different states, the program is federal and many military treatment facilities and clinics have the ability to provide the service for you. Military treatment facilities have shared programs with the VA and even a request from a civilian physical therapist would work. I have Medicare and Tricare for Life and have no problems getting the care I need. I even looked up the CPT codes (Current Physicians Terminology) the codes they need to get paid for services from insurances, for Botox for my spasm in my SI joints. My Doctor said they couldn't get Medicare to pay for it. I found the codes that allow for payment on the internet, printed it out and they submitted it and got it paid. Any time someone tells you your insurance won't pay for it, check for yourself and get familiar with it. I have claims not paid for because they have the wrong codes, diagnosis, reason for test, and other information that is needed. I have them send it to the wrong program as Tricare as four programs for different categories. I don't take things at place value. Sorry to get of topic here but you are right , they are receptive and I have found they will bend over backwards for you. Bennie
