Guest guest
Martha, I'm cleaning out e-mail, I think I'm up too March 11, 2011. It piled up as my Computer wasn't working. I saw your post about your Mom working as a Nurse during WWII. My mother in-law worked as a Nurse, in Germany, with my husband with her for awhile. She wouldn't talk about it much, she's now 93. A few years ago I would drive up. She lives in Reno, NV. I'm in Simi Valley, just out of Los Angeles. It was a hard drive for me, because of my back I'd have to stop and walk some. Plus I drove the Mustang, which is stick. PAIN. PAIN. I would stay all week, and my brother in-law would come on weekends. I finally got to talk some about her days not only as a Nurse, but hiding from the 'Germans'. Yes I got it on recorded. She finally left my husband with her parents. They didn't like the Man she married, so they would not help her. They were right. He left her, for a Woman with 2 girls, saying: well her kids needed a Father. The argument 'What about your Son', did nothing. They made-up and he stayed with his Grandparents, for a few years. No one can remember how many years. She also married an American. She went to school when the Man died and became a nurse. Where or what country was your Mother was at? E-mail me and tell me her story. Or give your e-mail address. You can leave it in my e-mail, no one sees that. Hope your still with this group. Hugs, Pegi
