Any input appreciated They can be, both because of ingredients [most are cultured on milk or apples] and because they can deplete magnesium. Try adding some magnesium, see if that helps. Guest guest
I was using kirkman probio gold and didn't see much difference after a while. I started my DD on VSL#3 and we saw a difference in two days (very loose bowels) and she seems to be in better mood(giving hugs and kisses vs pulling hair and less frustrated). Guest guest
What probiotic is " VSL #3 " ? I've seen it mentioned several times and can't figure out which one it is. Thanks, > Kellie VSL #3 would be this one: http://www.vsl3.com/VSL3/default.asp Expensive, but I found it to work well at the time for what I was using it for. I had a type of inflamitory bowel disease and I think that this was part of it being cured. Thanks, Mike
Guest guest
> Hi Dana and others - > Sorry if this has been answered but which probiotics would be good for a child whose constipation is caused by yeast? I think it really depends on the child, because I have read many stories where one probiotic really helps a child, but does nothing for another child. If the yeast is REALLY bad, you probably need more than just probiotics to eliminate it. >>We have unbelievable constipation issues with our 14 year old son. He has taken Klaire Therbiotic complete but as of late I have been giving him Living Streams liquid. Actually I have been giving him more than the recommended dose thinking that more must be better If you want to stick with Klaire products, I have read mostly good results from Detox Support, so you can try that one, see if it works better. Guest guest
In my experience, getting the body back into balance when it is out of balance can cause unpredictable shifts that don't necessarily (initially) head in the direction you want. in other words, sometimes things get worse before they get better. I wouldn't worry about it. you can't go wrong with probiotics. the only potential harm i can think of is if there are allergic-causing ingredients, so you might want to check that. I have heard of some people getting constipation upon beginning a kefir regimen. Guest guest
http://www.kefir.biz/why.htm says " Please note: 12 hour Kefir is a mild laxative, 36-48 hour Kefir causes constipation. " Try reducing the fermentation time.
