Guest guest
how much do you add to a quart of water? to a gallon of water? > > I was just reading in the archives about ConcenTrace and how much everyone seems to hate the bitter taste. > > I just want to say for the record that I absolutely LOVE the taste that the ConcenTrace drops give to my RO water. I love it the same way that I love my Gerolsteiner (high mineral) Mineral Water. It's like my body CRAVES it. Yum. > > I wonder if the taste grows on you; as I have been adding it for a couple years now. > > -Tamara >
Guest guest
10 in a quart. 40 in a gallon. > > how much do you add to a quart of water? to a gallon of water?
Guest guest
If you are deficient in certain minerals, then they have less taste to you. So goes a theory which I have read but never authenticated. Companies actually sell tasting / testing minerals. Also, adding minerals to RO water produces a different product than adding it to mineral - heavy local water (if your local water is high in some minerals as mine is). Guest guest
Desh, yes, I have seen these...but usually it is an absence of taste or a bitterness that shows deficiency or adequacy. what I'm talking about is a fullness/richness of flavor. a sense of satisfaction. I'm curious what might cause that. Tamara
Guest guest
The wiki on taste is interesting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taste if you scroll down to the saltiness section, it sounds like the various minerals stimulate saltiness receptors. In one part it also mentions that the saltiness receptors are ion channels, so that makes sense with the concentrace product. Of course as with all things wiki, the information must also be taken with a grain of salt. Desh ____________________________________________________________ Get a life insurance quote online. Guest guest
Hello, " Companies actually sell tasting / testing minerals " Do you have experience with any of these companies? If you have any company names, or opinions about any companies that sell tasting / testing materials I would be interested in investigating their products. Thanks, Gail > > If you are deficient in certain minerals, then they have less taste to > you. Guest guest
this was very interesting, from that article: Other monovalent cations, e.g. ammonium, NH4+, and divalent cations of the alkali earth metal group of the periodic table, e.g. calcium, Ca2+, ions generally elicit a bitter rather than a salty taste even though they too can pass directly through ion channels in the tongue, generating an action potential. that explains the bitterness when taken full strength. -Tamara
