Guest guest
This last week I went out to visit an all-Jersey dairy that provides the raw milk that I've been drinking for almost three years now. I posted some photos from the visit here, in case anyone may be interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/oz4caster/sets/72157605875573784/ Here in Texas the state health department has just recently proposed more stringent rules that would force consumers to go directly to the farm to buy and pick up their raw milk legally. At present, the rule only requires " sale " of raw milk at a licensed grade A raw milk dairy and does not deal with distribution of the milk. Needless to say, we are working to stop this proposal. We would prefer to see the rule changed to allow legal sale and distribution of the raw milk by the grade A dairies at farmers markets and designated drop locations. The initial public response was much larger than the health department expected and has slowed down the rule-making process. Hopefully it will also cause them to re-consider and change the proposal to a more realistic alternative like we are suggesting. Time will tell.
