Guest guest Posted March 10, 2008 Report Share Posted March 10, 2008 Ignou to launch HIV study programmes 11 Mar 2008, 0042 hrs IST , TNN NEW DELHI: The Indira Gandhi National Open University is going to launch several courses and formal study programmes on social work and HIV/AIDS, masters in social work (MSW) from July 2008. Besides, a PG diploma in social work may also be launched from January 2009. At the first annual Mother Memorial Lecture organized by (IGNOU), former president APJ Abdul Kalam released a book on diploma in HIV/AIDS and delivered the lecture on 'Giving Dignity to Human Life'. The programme, which was telecast live on Gyan Darshan Education channel, and repeated on Doordarshan on March 5, was also attended by Ignou V-C V N Rajasekharan Pillai and pro V-C Latha Pillai.
