Guest guest
I'm trying to figure out if a significant increase in basal temperature might be attributable to Vitamin D supplementation. Details below: For a month I've been on D supplementation; 6000iu per day, between CLO & D drops. My blood was measured at 34 for Vitamin D 25-Hydroxy, D-3, so I am trying to get it up to 50 pretty quickly for pregnancy purposes. For the past 2 weeks I have a pretty high basal temp--steadily between 98.7 and 98.9. it may have been high before that too but i wasn't tracking. Between Sept 2004 and Aug 2008 (when I was tracking last), my basal temp was quite low (98.1 at the average highest). This is a relatively sudden increase of 3/4 of one degree Farenheit! The only thing I've done differently in the past 8 months that I can think of, which might relate to hormonal influence, is the vitamin D supplementation. Interestingly enough, my daytime temps are normal at 98.6. Does anyone know if vitamin D supplementation can cause a significant increase in basal temperature? Or any sources that might help me research it? I've had no luck searching the web. Thanks so much for your wisdom! Tamara

I recently came across some discussion of a connection between vitamin D and thyroid function on Dr. 's Heart Scan Blog. It's in the comments section here: https://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=24987504 & postID=2076885945706087460 Tom
