Guest guest
but mag citrate tastes awful. i recommend the product " Natural Calm " (mag citrate with something slightly effervescent) but make sure you get the plain one (a little lemony and great in tea) - the flavored versions have extra crap in them. -jennifer On Apr 1, 2009, at 10:02 AM, gdawson6 wrote: > Magnesium citrate is an easy to absorb form. > > - > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > My boyfriend seems to be severely magnesium deficient. Guest guest
I'd be interested in your reference that magnesium amino acid chelate is chloride. I have had REMARKABLE results with it. Its obvious to me that my body is using it, but if I need to use a different form because of increasing the exposure to chloride, I'd sure switch! Thanks for help with this, Kathy From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Laree Kline Sent: Wednesday, April 01, 2009 8:45 AM Native Nutrition Subject: help with minerals please Hi all, My boyfriend seems to be severely magnesium deficient. I talked with him about it last evening and he was very willing to go on a mineral supplement as well as eat more nuts and seeds. However, I'm not sure what to tell him about the kind of minerals to purchase. It seems someone posted not long ago that the form should not be chloride, oxide or sulfate. So I was checking into colloidal minerals just now and it seems the magnesium form is chloride. Another article I had saved talked about transdermal magnesium cholide being the best. What do you all recommend so that we can get something his gut will really absorb? He doesn't have good digestion at this point but we'll be working on that too. THANKS for your help! Guest guest
I don't get why chloride (you know, the same stuff in salt) or sulfate would be a bad thing... My favorite ways of getting magnesium are both topical, either magnesium chloride salt, or epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). -Lana " There is nothing more useful than sun and salt. Guest guest
frontier's magnesium citrate tastes like crap, and certainly not tart like a lemon - chalky is the word that comes to mind. -jennifer On Apr 1, 2009, at 10:55 AM, gdawson6 wrote: > I have now foods pure magnesium citrate powder and I think it > actually tastes good. Guest guest
Whatever mineral supplement you take, you might benefit from some HCl supplement if low stomach acid is a problem. A bunch of minerals taken at once can douse that intestinal fire. HCl is sold in capsule form. An alternative is some diluted raw apple cider vinegar.
