You are right about the " rule " and the Doctor can be fined huge amounts even

when they give you those papers that state you need to sign this as you will

have to pay what your insurances doesn't.

I won't sign them as the Doctor has already signed and memorandum to accept the

amount the insurance pays them. They must inform you that they do not accept the

insurance charges beforehand.

Tricare has it printed on their explanation of benefits like Medicaid and

Medicare. People really need to read their hospital bills because of this and

" additional charges " . I found thousands over what I was supposed to pay and the

credited it back to my insurance.
