Now I have a 'Lump' that is growing, my voice is 'scratchy'. YES I'm calling for an appointment tomorrow! Pegi, I had a benign mass with my thyroid removal and it was not cancer and every time my thyroid levels are off, I get hoarse and have trouble swallowing some. So at least I know to call. This mass did NOT show up on ultrasound and my multiple nodules were grown inside my thyroid and not seen on ultrasound but was like bubble wrap has those bubbles. When I had it removed it had grown to one side of my passageway and had scarring as I had Hashimotos and that is auto immune disorder that the body keeps attacking my thyroid. A reknowned thyroid specialist said I had nothing wrong but one night I could not breathe or swallow and was in a thyroid storm and my ENT surgeon took my thyroid out immediately. I did not know how important the thyroid is and how it can increase blood pressure and cause so many other problems. Good Luck Pegi, will be thinking of you.
