-OK, OK, but birthday cake only comes once a year. And if a child can't have a

special treat on their birthday, well that's just wrong!<VBG>. Patti, who only

gets birthday cake once a year!

Special treats are great. They just don't have to be made from addictive

white-powder drugs, er I mean, refined sugars and starches. Really. I am a

granny and when I make treats for the kids, they never know it's from whole

foods because we make such a fuss about them all day, in lots of other ways than

sugar, that the actual cake is more symbolic.

Contrast that with our old family way of doing things, which was, to be socially

awkward unless there was lots of coffee and sweets, and then everyone would be

relaxed, funny and witty or at least thought they were. But if we took away the

drug, er I mean cake centerpiece, the whole party would be ruined. Nowadays if

the cake has an accident it's just funny, not tragic.

Because its organic, of course.

Aren't you aware that all things organic are good for you?
