My doctor never ever mentioned it so maybe he has never heard of it either. I know it is my job to be educated about everything I take. Thank you in advance for someone taking the time to explain it to me. Dear Becky, I think I was close to seratonin syndrome when I was on savella for a month. I had problems from the beginning with the first pill. I went online and from what I read it is pretty common to have problems starting out with savella but it can get easier and be a wonderful medicine. So I trooped on and kept taking it hoping I would be one of the lucky ones. Sadly it was not to be. I started with an upset stomach and dizziness. My stomach did not calm down even when I ate before taking the medicine. Then over time I got nervous and anxious not able to stop some pretty negative thoughts. All of these got worse and worse and at one point I was thinking my life was going to end. I finally went to see a pharmacist because I did not believe my pain doctor was listening to me and I also called my own personal physician for help and he gave me xanax. I found out from the pharmacist I was allergic to savella and to get off of it. I called my pain doctor made an appointment and told him I could not take it anymore being on this drug and got off of it. During that time I came back to the group and learned more about this terrible thing called seratonin syndrome. I was never diagnosed with it but I think I was getting there if I had stayed on savella longer. It is a very very very scary set of symptoms that basically made me feel I was going looney. I wish you a continued easy time with savella. I really hope you do not have problems with it and can avoid what I went through. Sincerely, Christy
