Guest guest
Hi I recently started sprouting beans - so far I've done chickpeas and mung beans, but the same method works for any kind. Here's how I do it. Soak beans in water in a glass jar for 12-24 hours (the larger the bean the longer the soak). Drain water, place cheesecloth over mouth of jar and keep in place with a rubber band. Tip jar upside down at a 45 degree angle and prop up (I put mine into a cup). Every twelve hours rinse and drain beans and put back to sit. Sprouts should appear in a day or two. Let them get as big as you like (usually as long as the bean) and then enjoy And yes, sprouting is an excellent way to increase nutrition and decrease bad things like phytates.
