Guest guest
How I wish that carab tasted more like chocolate since I get headaches from chocolate and most food so it is hard to find something to eat that I don't get a headache/migraine from HUGS > I'm a chocoholic too. I finally decided that I could have one rich > chocolate treat per week.
Guest guest
If I have one bite of something sweet, I will eat the entire box, bar, bag, pan or whatever. If someone gives me a box of chocolates, I usually take two or three pieces and throw the rest of them down the drain. (If that doesn't happen, I'm in big trouble). It sounds kind of humorous but it isn't. I am not huge, but could definitely lose twenty pounds. My weight hasn't effected my health yet. Is this a sign of Diabetes or some other trouble? siouxmoore Moderator's Note: Sounds more like the " piggy, piggy " that many of us are afflicted with. It takes a lot of willpower to put 'em down and walk away. Me? I'm all for eating all the chocolate I can get my grimy little hands on. But only once a week. :-)

However, if the chocolate is hidden it will be only once a day and given out a work by Mom. Christy
Guest guest
I almost never buy a great quantity of chocolates because I will eat and eat till it's eventually gone, about 2 days for a pound. If I get a gift, rare, I enjoy it. Like you I need to lose 25 pounds, I have been at my current weight for 10 years and I limit my sweets. I do not eat a lot of sugar but to deny myself the joy of chocolate, no way. Dove dark chocolate actually has health benefits as all dark chocolates do. It is just a nice creamy texture. Moderation. It's just a way of life for me. Jennette > siouxmoore wrote: >If I have one bite of something sweet, I will eat the entire box, bar, bag, pan or whatever. Guest guest
Hi Siouxmoore, With my stepma, her sign of diabetes was her sight went really blurry for her. I was tested at my physical for high blood sugar, of course she didn't tell me she was going to test me until the last minute (I had eaten a snickers bar before going to my appointment and so an hour later I was still a little on the high side) and it was a little high. I had to go back for another test without eating anything and I was okay, but I had to watch what I eat (like I don't anyways due to my migraines). I love fruit the best when I can afford it. esp. Gala apples. The other night I split a can of pears with my husband and had already poured out the syrup that was with it. If it is the juice I would drink it. Can't have regular sugar, honey or brown sugar, thankfully I will drink tea without sugar but then the lemon gets me, darn. My mother does the same thing, if it is there, she will eat the whole thing. When we moved from GA to WI and we were going to stop at her house but ended up going a different way that was faster. I didn't know that she had made brownies for us and later on she told me she ate the whole pan and it took her 2 weeks to get the chocolate out of her system. For me I can take it or leave it, most days. But with sweets I now try to do only the serving size so there is more for another day or just hide it and leave it there for a few days. So far my chocolate fix without the fat is chewing on Toosie Rolls, I get my chocolate and the chewing in one. I have a feeling I emotional eat though. Dark Chocolate I have heard is suppose to be good for us. (except me as a migrainour, any chocolate is a no no)I had a Resess peanut butter cup every day that I was at work (sit down job, talking on phone taking orders) when I was pregnant with my daughter, thankfully I took the last month off or I would have gained more weight. With every child I gained weight and went up a pants size. From a 10 to 12 to 14 to 16 then lost it when I had chemotherapy in 2008 to a size 12, I think and someone hugged me and said I was my college weight. That comment felt good but I don't recommend a " chemo " diet. All I did was crave things I couldn't taste and then when I did try eating it, later on I would be sick. I couldn't keep anything down. Now I weigh more than when I started but having asthma and being on predisone doesn't help either. Last year I was in the hospital twice in one month (Oct 2010) and it is hard to lose weight when you are tethered to an IV or heart monitor and then add methapredisolone to the mix. The one thing I don't miss is the cancer pain it is the worst pain I have ever felt and the neuro-oncologist didn't believe me and wouldn't prescribe anything for it. He prescribed Lyrica for me for my " headaches " not for my foot or knee pain that I would be rolling on the bed crying and screaming about. Have you noticed how you are feeling when you eat a lot of sweets? Some people get bored and will eat too. If I find out the other reasons people eat the wrong things I will let you know. HUGS G N. Wisconsin p.s. sorry for the chapter > siouxmoore wrote: > Is this a sign of diabetes or some other trouble?
Guest guest
Hi Mellisa, I have the low blood sugar, but I will not have those symptoms if I stay very low carb, and high saturated fat. Blurry vision is a sign of blood sugar problems. Fruit is high in fructose. I tried a 1/2 fresh lemon, no sweetener, but even it would create sugar cravings. It is one of the lowest. There is some info on the web that fructose also feeds cancer. One thing that does help with cravings is vitamin C. I take 4 a day(1000mg) in divided doses. I don't get the migraines like my sister does, but instead I get other pain with the sugar. Sugar and grains are very addictive. C.
