Rubbermaid containers, at least all of mine, are polypropylene (#5). One of

the safer plastics (BPA, PVC and Phthalate free). It could probably still

leech some chemicals, but there aren't many alternatives when it comes to

gardening - the stone pots all seem to be glazed and unlike foodware the

glazes are not regulated.

Thanks Lana. I had not thought about checking with the company to see which

they were made of. Silly me :) I usually do that kind of thing. Anyhow my

thoughts were - not cooking so over all should be fine.
