Guest guest
As far as age goes, I had bone cancer at age 14. My disk degeneration began in my mid-20s from wearing a prosthesis, and the pain was going down my " missing leg, " making it feel like the leg was on fire or being electrocuted. I got the same crap from doctors about age, plus the " it's all in my head " diagnosis since there was really nothing for them to examine. It would take 4 years for me to get help (from the wonderful pain doctors at West Virginia University med school), and I was able to get surgery, elimiating the pain for almost 20 years. Wow, that was a long sentence. Anyway, my favorite part was the orthopedic doctor who told me and everyone else that I was trying to get out of working for a living. Huh? I guess he forgot that I had asked him if we could postpone a test until after I took my GMAT for grad school. What work was I trying to get out of? Some of these doctors are morons. Especially orthopedic doctors. (Sorry, have had more than one bad experience with those guys.)
