Guest guest
Does anyone have information on or experience with treating MRSA, or stubborn infections? I'm afraid that's what I may have, but maybe it's something else. It started out as one pus filled blister, maybe 1/4 inch in diameter that left a round hole on one of my breasts which didn't heal and got bigger. I have tried the remedies I usually but they haven't worked: myrrh, goldenseal, echinacea, tea tree oil, oil of oregano, gentian violet, even neosporin and cephalexin didn't work. I make a point of not taking antibiotics, but I didn't seem to have a choice. I went to a doctor last week who did a culture, but it had to be redone. I finally got the results back which are negative. However, the doctor agrees that although some sores appear to be healing very slowly, I do have infections on 2 spots so I have been referred to an infectious disease specialist. The antibiotics (Rifampin & Sulfameth/Trimethoprim) I am presently taking seemed to work for 1 day then there was no improvement for a few days. Putting colloidal silver on it does not help, but ionic silver does. I am also taking a tablespoon of coconut oil every day and eating coconut cream or drinking coconut milk. I leave the ionic silver on for four hours and off for 4 hours. The sores appear to get worse if I don't apply the ionic silver. I have also tried copper and I it seems to help the colloidal silver work even better. It did get rid of one spot on my chest just using it alone. I'm very frustrated after dealing for weeks with what I thought was going to be a simple skin infection. I have mixed feelings about the first doctor I went to. He's a nutritional doctor so I did get some good food supplements, but maybe not just what I need. I had the initial spot when I saw him. He gave me some DSMO in addition to the other things: vitamin A, zinc, selenium, olive leaf extract, and digestive enzymes. Of course I'm taking my cod-liver oil. I have read posts on Native Nutrition, and I know some people think DMSO is great, but now I think it can be very dangerous. After beginning to use it, I started getting marks all over my chest and began getting sores whereever I had used adhesive tape to cover the gause I was using. I went from one sore to ten along with a strip of raw oozing skin about a foot long and 3 inches wide in a few days. (After a few weeks, this strip slowly shrank down to 2 open sores about 1.5 inches in diameter and a smaller sore which I think is almost healed.) I also have possibly 4 other sores, but I am not sure that they are the same thing, they may be minor scratches or irritations. I have not had a problem with adhesive tape before, but I have tried all kinds of things and can no longer tolerate latex tape, non-latex tape, and anything stuck to my skin turns into oozing sores. This has made it hard to find a way to cover the sores to try to prevent them from spreading, but at this point I do not appear to be getting any new sores. (I say that with hope and reservations too.) I think the DMSO spread the infection all over my chest. If it improves uptake through the skin, it can improve the uptake of anything right? I am hoping that all this will be a moot issue if I get some help from the infectious disease doctor, but I was hoping to see if anyone could shed some light on this situation, and to warn people that DMSO may not be so safe.
