Guest guest
Dear forum, This is an unfortunate incidence indeed. The villagers need to be made aware about the facts and the myths about the disease. In our community orientation programs, I have found the villagers to be quite interested in knowing about the disease. The youth and ladies have lots of questions to ask about HIV-AIDS. They might have seen Shabana Azmi hugging HIV positive children, but are never convinced by that advertizement. One college going student from a village said, " oh, that is just acting.. can't be true " But after my simple educational CD presentation and talk in Marathi, they were happy to know that they will never get infected if they help any HIV positive person. We should try to spread the messege through direct dialouges like these. I have found them quite effective. The about mentioned episodes can definitely thus be reduced.
