Guest guest
I just glanced at the current issue of The Atlantic and saw this: http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200904/case-against-breastfeeding Can you believe this s***? The header: " IN CERTAIN OVERACHIEVING CIRCLES, breast-feeding is no longer a choice--it's a no-exceptions requirement, the ultimate badge of responsible parenting. Yet the actual health benefits of breast-feeding are surprisingly thin, far thinner than most popular literature indicates. Is breast-feeding right for every family? Or is it this generation's vacuum cleaner--an instrument of misery that mostly just keeps women down? " There is so much wrong with that I'd fill up all computer drives telling it, and I haven't even gotten past the title. Here is someone's comment on that article: http://usfoodpolicy.blogspot.com/2009/03/oh-really-hanna-rosin-in-atlantic-makes\ ..html The line from the table of contents: " It's not nearly as beneficial as the popular literture suggests. Is it worth the cost to a mother's career, sanity, and independence? " The online magazine also has a video.
