Guest guest
My friend's daughter has been on lithium for bi-polarism yet she suddenly had a psychotic break. Her voices have told her to leave the house (to parts unknown - just puts her back pack on and leaves) or else her family will be killed and she will be used as a sex slave. They have taken her to a psychiatrist who she can fool into thinking she's not so bad off and since she's an adult, her parents aren't privy to his thoughts on the matter. They have also taken her to a doctor who had blood tests done to balance her hormones. Fine and what I've begged her to do for years but saliva tests are much better for some of that and is he looking at all her hormones or just the few that most doctors look at? I don't know and my friend is too fragile right now to press. Would iodine be a possible help? Also, since these drugs have fluoride and mercury in them no doubt, should she detox them or would that just move those things around in her body including her brain? I'm going over there today to try to get my friend to drink some coconut water for the electrolytes and take my Green Pastures cod liver oil along with high vitamin butter oil and vitamin K2 to move the calcium to where it is supposed to go - your bones, not joints and soft tissue. She needs the vitamin A to combat the stress. Any advice on iodine and detox would be welcome. Guest guest
I'm sorry to hear about that. I've read articles on a Russian doctor who has patients with mental health problems fast and the problems go away - the theory is that it is an effect of a food sensitivity and the foods cannot be identified until the person gets all food out of their system for awhile then slowly re-introduces foods. Of course if you look at Dr. Natasha's work on the GAPS diet, the food sensitivities themselves are a symptom of dysbiosis. Another article I read recently seems to concur - that the urine of people with mental health problems is very high in certain sugars made only by yeasts like candida. (this article is about autism but I've seen it said the same things about mental illness http://www.scribd.com/doc/2628333/Autism-and-the-Human-Gut-Flora ) If she was only on lithium, that is a mineral supplement, it shouldn't require detox as far as I know. If she was on any other antidepressants tho then yes suddenly stopping them could cause voices and other emotional problems. --- In , Parashis <artpages@...> wrote: > > > My friend's daughter has been on lithium for bi-polarism yet she > suddenly had a psychotic break. Guest guest
a member from another list mentioned how her mood would change (she'd get really irritable, etc) when she ate certain foods. eventually, she found she was gluten sensitive and that gluten really did a number on her when it came to mental health. not that what i read is necessarily the same degree as your friend, BUT what " haecklers " wrote below about what the russian doctor did sounds like a very sensible troubleshooting approach to the situation. much safer/cleaner than throwing a bunch of drugs at her and seeing what works (or doesn't)! good luck!
