If you have missed the first seven conferences in the Indoor Air series, you may not know that this is the major triennial conference in the field of indoor air quality and climate and attracts about 1000 participants. It is worth getting it into your diary now, and also note that the conference will finish just before the start of the world's biggest annual arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival. Indoor Air 99 will cover all aspects of indoor air quality and climate, including: all types of indoor pollutant plus thermal and moisture problems; health, comfort and human performance in relation to the indoor environment; ventilation and building services; building design and materials; measurement, modelling and research methods; policy and regulation; all types of indoor environment. The conference will be held in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, at the heart of the city. This purpose-built venue was completed in 1995 and represents the state of the art in accommodation and facilities. The conference schedule will include plenary lectures, parallel technical presentations and workshops, poster sessions and a trade fair, plus a social programme for delegates and accompanying persons, taking in the castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, other historic houses and gardens, the Royal Mile, river cruises, whisky tasting and the many museums and galleries.
