Dear members ,

The Global Campaign for Microbicides, housed at PATH, has begun its

international search for a new Executive Director.Im hoping that you will help

us by sharing this announcement widely within your networks and encouraging

qualified colleagues to apply.

The Global Campaign for Microbicides is a broad-based, international coalition

of organizations working to accelerate access to new and existing HIV prevention

options, especially for women. It has been endorsed by over 300 organizations,

has six offices worldwide and an impressive network of advocates.  Its work to

expand women’s prevention options and to protect the interests of women in

clinical trials and local communities has never been more important.

The Campaign’s international Steering Committee, of which I am a long-term

member, is excited about the prospects for the work of the Campaign in the

coming years. We continue to believe strongly that getting a microbicide into

the hands of women is both imperative and achievable, and we are looking forward

to bringing on a new leader to take us through the next phase of this work. We

are pleased that the current director, Lori Heise, who has been the

extraordinary leader of the Campaign since its inception, will remain available

through this transition.

We hope to fill the position by January 2009, and we are especially interested

in recruiting candidates with extensive experience in and ties to the global

south. The full description and links to the application are available at:
