Guest guest
Hi , You stated "Some have had success with flaxseed oil (FSO). Use about 3 ounces per day. Many use cottage cheese with it, but I am not convinced of its value. I would avoid vitamin E and selenium while doing the FSO. Vitamin C is more debatable." I am trying to use a multiple approach in fighting prostate cancer. As such, I take 4 tbls. of Flax Seed Oil (FSO) w/1c. cottage cheese, 200+ mcg. selenium, and 400 IU vitamin E (along with enzymes, MGN-3 and apricot kernels) each day. Based on my research on FSO, I can't agree with taking FSO without the cottage cheese. I believe there is evidence of doing so possibly may even be detrimental to cancer patients. However, I am primarily interested in your reasoning concerning NOT taking selenium or Vit. E with FSO. What is the basis or theory behind that part of your statement. Thanks, Jon
Guest guest
, Are these things available only in Mexico or can this be had in the states? I have been on the FSO, but not enough, so I need to increase that. So are you saying to take or not to take the vit. C? Thank you for all your help! Guest guest
Jon, Do you take the 4 tbs of flax all at once or do you spread it out during the day? Guest guest
asked: "Do you take the 4 tbs. of flax all at once or do you spread it out during the day?" Hi I combine 4 tbs.. flax oil with 1 cup, low-fat, cottage cheese and then also add a couple of tbsp.. of flax seed. I put this in the blender and add a little water (about 1 oz.) to get the consistency thinner so it blends well. I then take this spread out through the day at 1/4 to 1/3 each time depending on my schedule. I frequently add honey, fruit or a little flavored yogurt to make the taste even better. I believe those who complain about the taste are not blending the cottage cheese with the oil. Doing so takes away all of the oiliness of the "spread". I also use the spread in place of mayonnaise on sandwiches. That's more info. than you asked for but I hope it helps you and others here. Incidentally, I also belong to "FlaxSeedOil" group. I believe the following will get you to the site: FlaxSeedOil Good luck.

Guest guest
Jon, Part of the way FSO works is by a free radical mechanism. You would want to avoid exogenous substances that quench free radicals. This is especially true for Vit E. Selenium is requisite for glutathione peroxidase. The activities of both FSO and laetrile would be suppressed by glutathione. There is plenty of evidence that selenium and vitamin E help prevent cancer. There is little evidence that they will help cure it. Vitamin C is more debatable as it is also a pro-oxidant and there are many other factors to take into account. There is plenty of evidence that FSO has benefit as a standalone. I have not seen any real rationale for the addition of cottage cheese. This is not to say it is bad, as I don't think it is in the small amounts recommended. I know of no way that the sulfur-bearing proteins in cottage cheese will react with an unsaturated fatty acid. Guest guest
Hi Deepa, I have 4 documents re pancreatic cancer with hopefully enough information to help your close relative. Please respond to my private email address if you are interested and I can pass them on. Regards Hanneke ~ Australia Message: 3 Date: Thu, 22 Jan 2004 22:59:13 -0800 (PST) From: Deepa <sisact2000@...> Subject: NEEDED HELP.... I need some of you people out there to help me out on this condition of my close relative... Sorry for the long posting...but then this is what explains our precise situation... She had ovarian cancer because of which the doctors removed both her ovaries followed by chemo.(This was 10 years ago) They however retained her uterus..and advised her to be on some HRT(estrogen and progesterone ) supplements.. She responded well to the treatment and was doing well and had her regular scans and CA-125 tests done .she was cured of ovarian cancer .(she was on HRT for almost 8 years) Her scan and CA 125 test showed positive results.. Some of her scan report showed the presence of gallstones..but since she did not have pain or other discomforts ,doctors chose to ignore them. Of late (A year ago)she used to get symptoms similar to severe acidity ...She went for her yearly scan which showed the presence on a lesion /tumour near the tail of the pancreas.Doctors pronounced it as cancer as well..and advised surgery followed by chemo... But thrugh sources we came to know that surgery of pancreas is not only risky but also that the chemo on the pancreas is usually not very effective. This was the time that we started to explore altenative therapies.. She was advised to stop the HRT. She started homeo medicenes..which initially showed some regression. but later and the lesion is back to the same size and remained that way for almost 6 -7 months(no metastatis) Off late she has started to get severe pain in the epigastric region... Our homeo doctor attibutes the pain to gallstones.. She did the liver flush 3 times till now..was able to get out some gallstones.. The recent reports showed 3 gallstones remaining..and the pancreatic tumor as the same size. She still is suffering from severe " discomfort " (as she explains)and severe pain all over her epigastric region and abdomen.... The pain surfaces almost every morning and lasts the full day sometimes.. On other days the pain takes the varying scale..... we are unable to figure out if the pain is because of the gallstones or the tumour or all combined.. Also she has started to feel because of the stopping of the estrogen and progesterone supplements.. Is there any other alternative herbal supplements for estrogen and progesterone???? She off late started taking wheat grass juice and follows a no meat diet(she takes only fish and egg).. I feel we need a whole some remedy for all her problems HRT ,gallstones and pancreatic tumour. Please please please ....the experts out there HELP us to get over this problem ASAP.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP

He may be able to give you information and guidance by phone that could be helpful. It would be good to have all of the medical information you can ready before calling him. If your ex-wife can call, that would be even better. Here is the information needed to contact him. Possibilities: I ran into a semi-retired orthopaedic surgeon who talked about a friend, also a MD, who worked on pancreatic cancer very successfully in his clinic in Mexico - his offices are in Chula Vista, CA.. Uses Ozone therapy along with whatever needed to get the blood chemistry to fight off the cancer - Very similar to another MD in Canada who has done this successfully for years (his wife had pancreatic cancer ten years ago and is still with us in good shape). He is Dr. Bernardo Majalca, Chula Vista, 619-591-7094 Another person to talk to would be at: The Center for the Study of Natural Oncology 437 South Highway 101, Suite 201 Solana Beach, CA 92075 office 858-523-9144 www.natural-oncology.org Dave... Guest guest
Probably is wise to start small with the wheatgrass juice. The first time I tried it one ounce- I got really wired. Made me scared to try it again. Now I have a Greenstar juicer and add some to my juice drinks and it does not have that effect on me. I would not advise starting with this much. Regarding the sun gazing. Look this up on the internet. You need to do it before the sun is up too much - very early in the morning. You could injure your eyes by not doing this right. -Steve Adler wrote: >I recommend the following Juice Fasting advice... > 4 oz. fresh wheatgrass juice 4 times per day. Has anyone used or do they know of any homeopathic remedies to fight this type of cancer? Essiac? The two links below are places where people go to learn and experience the healing programs using Living Raw Foods, wheatgrass juice and healthy life practices. Hipprocrates Institute in Florida http://www.hippocratesinst.org/ The Optimum Health Institutes in San Diego and Austin, TX http://optimumhealth.org/optimumhealth/ One of the easiest cancer healing plans is the one created by Dr. Johanna Budwig. It includes both raw and cooked foods, no supplements, just the right cancer fighting nutrition and health practices. The Budwig Protocol is explained in the Health Group, FlaxseedOil2. We just had a testimonial today from a man in his 60's who is healing from liver cancer. His last ultrasound tests showed a reduction in his tumors by 50%. And, we had a testimonial today from a woman who healed breast cancer with mets to the bones. There are many testimonials in the group's files, one is about a man who healed pancreatic cancer through the Budwig plan. If the plan is followed carefully, it usually takes about 3 to 4 months to become cancer free. That doesn't mean that after that, the person can go back to eating fried foods and sugary desserts. Those foods are what damage the body. Healing naturally from cancer is a commitment to healthy living. For pancreatic cancer, a transition diet is required to ease into the full Budwig plan. If you join the group, ask about that so someone can direct you to it. The people there will help you and your dad put the diet and full plan into practice if you are both willing to do it. FlaxSeedOil2/?yguid=108474375 You mentioned Essiac or bloodroot, I don't believe that there are any quick fixes that allow a person to just take a supplement and heal cancer. The testimonials that I've seen on this list and others were from people who made major changes in diet and lifestyle.
Guest guest
Hi, Todd. Cancer is a degenerative disease, and in order to recover from it, one needs to adopt a REgenerative way of living. Depending on how a person may have been eating and otherwise living, that may call for a significant overhaul. I agree with that maintaining an unhealthful lifestyle and taking a supplement such as bloodroot or Essiac is unlikely to be of help. Certainly you will find, should you speak with Bruce, that he has made serious changes in his diet and in other areas of his life.
