Guest guest
How long have you been on the well water? What area are you in? It could be a lot of things, but if you are certain that the hair is coming from multiple people in the household and if the change to well water coincides, it would certainly be worth a trial off of it. There could be anything in there. FWIW - I had alopecia in my mid-twenties but turned it around, so hopefully that is some comfort. I'm now in my thirties and have a full head of hair with no sign of thinning. I'm not sure *what* I did to reverse it as I took a sort of shotgun approach. Changed my water, stopped soy, stopped vegetable oils, etc.. Something worked. If the water seems to coincide with when this started, I'd really encourage you to change your water supply and see what happens. > > We are using well water for the home, and see recently more than before hair fall. Could there be a co-relation to well water, in which we add water softener, to thinning of hair and falling? > > -Dan >
Guest guest
I have read that there is a correlation between heart disease and water softeners because of magnesium elimination. My SIL just put in a water softener because their well water was high in iron which could be toxic to the body. Maybe you should get your water tested first before spending unneccessary dollars. I would rule out under-active thyroid first. Take you Basal temps before arising then see if they rise during the day. Guest guest
We had troubles with wells twice. Once the water was under a horse pasture and fissures in the rocks were letting horse urine into our drinking water. The other time (different place), there was a strip mine at the bottom of the ridge we lived on, along with a lot of other folks. It had filled in with water, and was really close to the aquifer that our wells all tapped into. During a drought I saw barrels with the skull and crossbones on them at the bottom of the strip mines - someone had been dumping there. A few years later almost all the neighbors had someone in their home with cancer, rare types like brain cancer. Now I think of wells as risky - you don't know what could be getting into what you're drinking! > > > > We are using well water for the home, and see recently more than before hair fall.
