Guest guest
This brings back some memories. I was raised by Carmelite Sisters who took all the boys to go see this picture. Remember the scene where the nazi trash are hot on the trail of the family at the convent? Where two of the Sisters had taken out some necessary bits from the cars to prevent the family being pursued. Well the eight sisters laughed hysterically at this part of the movie as they pointed to each other as if to say that's you Sister Matilda no that's you Sr. Louise. Mother superior had an expression of kind benevolence for all of two hours after the movie. After that it was The Return of The Tyrannosaurus Penguins From Hell Take two. Talk about religious indoctrination. My day went from the sound of music to my sounds of murder. I was praying for mercy for the better part of a week for my indiscretion so soon after what was obviously a holy event for the Carmelite Sisters of the Carmelite Home for Boys. Don't ask cause I ain't telling what I did but it wasn't good by a long shot. Besides it was an accident. Ahh, thems were the good ole days. Thanks for the Memory Rita. Guest guest
In my own case, I saw this the same day I almost choked on a marble I was in the habit of sucking at the time. My mother did what you arent supposed to do and pulled it out with her finger. I then had hours hearing abt how I might have died through my habit. It was during the " Lonely Goatherd " puppetry scene that I whispered to my mother that I was glad I was still alive to see the film. It was only a brief respite however; rather than live in that hell-house the von Trapps would probably have preferred the Nazis. P. > This brings back some memories.
