Guest guest
I got the email below. can anyone help? if so, contact Sharon at sharon@... Hi, Carolyn! There's a 15-yo of a friend who is wanting to body-build, but is seriously deficient in all-things-foods as far as knowledge. His idea of eating well is 2 bowls of cereal and now he's looking at body- building mixes from GNC which are poison. Do you know of any trustworthy, male, body-builder through WAPF connections, who would be willing to come alongside this kid, maybe just a few letters, or point him to good bodybuilding sites that stick to WAPF values? Thanks! Sharon

If he wants to be a competitive bodybuilder he won't be able to eat WAP like only. He will have to incorporate other things to be competitive. If he justs wants to look good and build muscle/strength, it probably doesn't matter much what he eats, or even how he works out (see The Ghetto Workout: http://nutrition-and-physical-regeneration.com/blog/?p=22) depending on his genetics. And who is footing the bill? Cooking and preparing the food? If its Mom and Dad they are going to need to be on the same page. So the main question is whether or not his primary goal is health-related or form related. Someone who is 15 years old who isn't doing body-building for health reasons and is eating on a dime other than his own is going to be hard pressed to adopt a WAP style way of eating. Doesn't mean someone shouldn't come alongside and help him, just that there are a lot of factors to consider in a situation like this.
