Guest guest
Dear all Recently I was in Shillong for workshop on GIPA. It was a nice experience being in state of Meghalaya for 4 days. According to NACO, the Meghalaya comes under the category of Low Vulnerable State but  it has already initiated National Free ART program. A handful of PLHIV are accessing the services from this ART centre. During my short stay in Meghalaya I had came across lots of information on Access to Treatment. As when I interacted with people who are accessing free ART services from its centre but most of them are not fully aware of Treatment Literacy. When we talk about treatment, the most important thing of HIV treatment i.e. " Adherence Counselling " is not properly done. So we need lots of thing to look into in it. Most pathetic part is that the CD4 count machine is not functioning (working) for last 3-4 months. And no one is complaining or raising anything about this failure. So we need to highlight this problem with the concern authorities otherwise my fellow PLHIV freinds are suffering there and for getting the services they have to travel to neighbouring state.
