Guest guest
Hi Deb, How much do you take daily? I have bad Hashi's with painful swelling and dangerous nodules they watch for cancer. I just saw my endo and he's great but he has to feel it pretty thoroughly and im hurting so bad now =( Feels like I have a huge bruise on my throat and when swallow or move my head it hurts so bad. I'm so tired of this. I've been trying to do the Lugol's but can't keep up with it. I found that putting it cold water made it easier to take though so I am back at it. I worked up to 8 drops with no problems but I am wondering how much you take? Dawn From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Deb. Sent: Saturday, September 19, 2009 10:42 AM Subject: Re: Lugol's--Not What? Ok the horse story., very interesting!! I think painting iodine,or takeing it internally is great, either way,as long as you use it!! Never underestimate topical treatments,as things r absorbed through the skin rapidly. Look at bioidentical creams 4 example.. Haveing said that,I do my lugols iodine internally, for over 2yrs now,and it saved my life!!!!! I was thyroidtoxic,my 2nd bout with graves sent me into tachacardia on a daily basis, and thyroid storm. I have both graves/hashis,and couldn't do atds,as my liver couldn't tolerate them,so at this time it was raidoactive iodine,or surgery,I was looking at. Then I developed the teds, eye disease and that left just surgery as my option. I studyed my ass off,and came on the lugols iodine, and how it was used 4 the last 100 plus yrs.,I ordered it,5% solution, from jcrows and it put my severe case into remission! I still take it daily, and will say this.,it is one thing I would never be without!!!!!!! I also shrunk my thyroid nodules, and an ovarian cyst/fibroid,simply by increasing my lugols dosage.... I'm huge into what is available from nature,as opposed to big pharma.. Deb --aliano
Guest guest
Good horse story. I would like to get people's opinion. I have iodine deficiency and am wondering what is the best form of iodine to take. Is the skin patch best or taking something orally, such as kelp or dulse best? If the skin patch is best, should it be lugol's iodine or is tincture of iodine OK. I like the idea of the skin patch as you can simultaneously get your iodine and know if you are deficient or not. Guest guest
I agree with 's statement that the patch test is for testing, not supplementing. That was the point of the horse story. After being on kelp for a while, her patch test was passing, the iodine was staying on for more than 24 hours. I use kelp to supplement. does Dulse have more iodine than kelp? Deb, For the Chromium GTF, I use Soloray brand. It tests to be a good, high quality product. There may be others, but when I find a quality product, I stick with it. The Chromium GTF is synergistic with the cinnamon mixes. GTF stands for Glucose Tolerance Factor. The skin patch is a good way to test for deficiency. but to take it, I like the Dulse. Everyone is different. All the sea vegetables are good sources of iodine. I had to start slow as too much gave me a headache. Even when my ND gave me thyroid supplement I had to back off and start over slowly. Once I got it built up I can now eat like I want of the sea vegetables. I dont take the supplement any more now that I have the Dulse. If you get the Dulse flakes they are good sprinkled over salads and different things. I like the whole to eat. > > > > > > Kathy, what is gtf?? Curiose.,lol. .. I love you're horse story!!!
