Guest guest
Sorry for the first empty post... I've got a tracball mouse and it's freaking out. Mitochondrial disorders can definitely cause eye and vision problems. Staci had severe cataracts and last year had surgery for removal and intraocular lens replacement. The left eye was completely blind, and the right had a 40% cataract. She had to be healthy for 3 weeks, then could have one done and the next one 10 days later. She went from being EXTREMELY nearsighted to barely nearsighted with the surgery. She now wears bifocals. Ann-Marie, you need to cancel your optometrist appointment and make one with an opthamologist. An opth. is a licensed MD who specialized in eyes and vision care. They can do surgeries and prescribe medications if needed. Sure, the opt. can check your eyes and perhaps make a diagnosis, he can't treat it. I just think you might want to save time and perhaps on the copay. Sincerely, Echert
