I use Brita jug filters, which you can get a good price on at Costco.

I can't say I've done exhaustive research comparing various systems,

but it's at least a basic charcoal filter, and I believe they claim to

reduce fluoride and chlorine. I'm fortunate to be on well water right

now so I don't even filter it for most uses. I did use Brita when I

lived in the SF Bay Area and it did improve the taste and smell of tap

water.

You're in Lehi, Utah? My folks are in Orem.

You can always find a friend with an RO system.. I did that for awhile.

:) Otherwise, distilled water works.

I forgot.. we found an in the box never used RO undersink system on

craiglist for $100.. which is 1/3 to 1/4 the price of a new system.
