Guest guest
Just an opinion, but isn't mucus being created for some purpose? The body trying to get something out? I remember many years ago when I lived in Japan and caught a terrible cold. A Japanese friend took me to a pharmacy for some Traditional Chinese Medicine herbs, which smelled absolutely vile! But I took it and it produced unbelievably copious amounts of mucus. I literally could blow my nose for 10 minutes and it wouldn't stop. But after a couple of days of this, the cold was gone. I was cleaned out! Sure wish I knew the name of the herbs. Jeanmarie On Aug 26, 2009, at 8:21 AM, repent_kog_is_near wrote: > My brother, for the past 2 weeks, is getting mucus/cold every > evening. Guest guest
Iodine is great for mucus. He can use a few drops of Lugol¹s iodine in a drink or he can buy iodine tablets called Iodoral. Jeanmarie is right that his body is trying to clear something and the iodine should get it moving. Guest guest
I had that and it was mold from the basement coming up through the air vents in my bedroom. Had to get the dehumidifier set up. If he's feeling tired/sick, it could be a low-level infection - maybe flu or something. How long has it lasted? Flu can last up to 3 weeks, I believe and things like Mono even longer. If he thinks he may be just a little sick, he should rest as much as he feels like resting, try green tea, sauerkraut, etc. to try to finish it off. DMSO clears up stuffy sinuses really nicely, so does iodine, and also inhaling salt water from a spray mister (spray it in the air and take deep breaths). The salt thins the mucus and helps the airways get rid of pollen, dust, etc, that can be irritating. > > My brother, for the past 2 weeks, is getting mucus/cold every evening. Guest guest
Hello How do you use DMSO to clear sinuses? Thanks Dan > > > > My brother, for the past 2 weeks, is getting mucus/cold every evening. Guest guest
Great point on mucus. we won't fight it :-) What about blocked nose? He is having that also, which is the hardest and he has to breath through mouth when sleeping with steep pillows. Dan > > > My brother, for the past 2 weeks, is getting mucus/cold every > > evening. Guest guest
is he avoiding all pasteurized dairy or just the milk? I would eliminate all of it and switch to raw dairy. > > My brother, for the past 2 weeks, is getting mucus/cold every evening. Guest guest
He might want to cut out dairy all together. I have become allergic to dairy this summer, gave me bronchitis. It is an adrenal issue which I am addressing. It started drinking raw milk this spring. I can't figure out if it was detox or I am just allergic but I stopped. Guest guest
Following the mold idea, change the air conditioner filter. Usually there is one in the ducts near the furnace that gets clogged. Homeopathy can address symptoms at a specific time (mucus in evening, rather than morning). abchomeopathy.com has a decent remedy finder. Guest guest
I use Dusa Sal. It is 60% DMSO. I've never checked out the other ingredients before now and I'm not sure I like what I am reading. deionized water, urea, methyl salicylate, vitamin e, polysorbate 20, propylene glycol, natrosol. In any case, it is a gel and I apply it to the skin over the sinus area. It has helped in minutes for a sinus infection, although the instructions say not to use it on the face. I have had incredible success with Kombucha for mucous. At first, I thought I was allergic to Kombucha because the second I drank some mucous was coming out everywhere. After a week It stopped. I'm reading Dr. s' book on Hydrogen Peroxide and he says spray diluted H202 up the nose to rid the sinuses of those pesky bacteria. Guest guest
Rinsing with saline solution, with or without a neti pot, is a good way to clean the nose, and it's simple and cheap.
