From the MODERATOR -- please use the POLITICS tag

Hi everyone,

I'm very sorry and I have let this list fall into almost complete

" immoderation. "

Please remember to use the POLITICS tag in the subject line for all

political posts. Please spell it exactly like that and use capitals exactly

like that, and do not add any punctuation to it. The idea is for political

posts not only to be immediately recognizable and immediately deletable for

people who are not interested in reading them, but also reliably filterable

with email clients that have that feature.

Just to recap, there are three mandatory tags on the list that should be

placed in the subject line, preferably first:

POLITICS This tag is used when the subject matter is political (whether

on-topic or off-topic).

RELIGION This tag is used when the subject matter is religious (whether

on-topic or off-topic).

OT This tag is used for material that is obviously off-topic and to which

neither of the other two tags apply. For example, a post about whether HD

TV is worth it would require this tag.

While the list focuses on nutrition from the perspective of traditional

diets, anything related to nutrition, health, or physiology is considered

on-topic. These on-topic subjects can sometimes be religious or political

in nature and thus require the appropriate tags. Sometimes such

conversations might result in a tangent that is religious or political but

not obviously about nutrition. These tangents are allowed, and should be

tagged with the POLITICS or RELIGION tag and not the OT tag.

Okay, I know I haven't posted often recently... but since when do we have an

OT tag? :)
