Netti Pot

Hi All,

I have had times in the past of having tinnitis in response to using

suppliments, even as tiny amounts as a grain of salt. I also have some hearing

loss from half dose of peptiol bismol over many days ( asprin allergy i was

told : new)

I was unable to use the netti pot as it further aggrevated my ears, unsure

if it was the concerntrated salt at one time or the flow of water thru my ears

or ? Very inexpenisve to get from health food stores. good luck

Sorry if this is off topic. It isn't really nutrition related but I thought you

guys could help me out.

I have used a Netti Pot for about a year now. I have been trying to get my wife

to use it and she never would. This past weekend she got really stuffed up and

congested. She finally agreed to try the netti pot. I got it all prepared for

her and even demonstrated how to use it. She tried to use it and the water just

sat there. It never would come out the other nostril. She said she could feel

pressure build up but the water never flowed out of the netti pot and never came

out the other nostril. From what I could tell, she was in the proper posture

and appeared to be doing everything correctly.

I have never had this happen to me when using the Netti Pot. Any ideas or

suggestions?

, she may be just so stuffed up that the neti pot doesn't have enough

pressure to get through. Also, if she has any kind of nasofacial abnormalities

it could reduce the flow.

On the rare occasion when I have bad cold symptoms, I use NeilMed's Sinus Rinse.

It's just a bottle with a tube that you fill with saline, just like a neti pot,

only you can get positive pressure by squeezing the bottle (rather than just the

pressure of gravity). It is simpler and superior to a neti pot since you have

greater control over how much flow/pressure.

There may be other brands but NeilMed seems to be sold in most pharmacies.
