Guest guest
This is the 5% solution Lugol's solution consists of 5 g iodine (I2) and 10 g potassium iodide (KI) mixed with 85 ml distilled water, to make a brown solution with a total iodine content of 130 mg/mL. So if yours has 15 more ml of water then it is less potent than the 5%. My chemistry is bad so I don't know what that would equate to. Mabye someone here can help. Steph Lugol's Solution I have had a bottle of Lugol's Solution for a couple of years, but don't know how to use it as a supplement? I've heard it has a cleansing action. Guest guest
Thanks. How many drops of a 5% solution would be good for general detox? From: ladybugsandbees <ladybugsandbees@ sbcglobal. net>Subject: Re: Lugol's Solutioniodinegroups (DOT) comDate: Monday, August 3, 2009, 11:28 PM Yes it does. It flushes halides along with being antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal. What % solution is it? You take it in liquid (of your choice) with food. Guest guest
Hi there .Rather than messing around with the Lugol's why not get a pill form that has a set amount of iodine and iodide in it. No guessing that way. AS far as detox is concerned you need to look up and read carefully about it, as it is recommended that you get monitoring of your iodine levels (basically a urine tests) as you increase your doseage. this can be done by a Naturopath or an M.D. if they are knowledgeable about iodine. Kind of a pain to have to shell out but there may be some ways of self monitoring. I am taking Iodoral and gradually increasing it. i am aware that some folks can trigger thyroid problems by taking too much so you need to be knowledgeable about what the S & S of overdose are(all on the net). Anyone out there know of reliable self monitoring tools available? Guest guest
Hi , If we were referring to Iodoral, would three a day be sufficient as a supplement? Guest guest
Hi there . Well I started with a half tablet and have worked my way up to one and a half tabs/day. they are 12.5 mg. Japanese eat about 13.8 mg of iodine in their diet daily is seaweed and fish. i am going to take more as I have fibrocystic breast disease and the theory is that taking the iodine purges the thyroid, breasts and the rest of the body of bromine, florine, chlorine and that higher doses are needed for that. No one can tell you how much to take definitively unless it is a doctor who is monitoring how much bromine, florine you are excreting and that tells the doc if you have reached a high enough dose to get rid of these halides. Anyway sorry no easy answers! From: ladybugsandbees <ladybugsandbees@ sbcglobal. net>Subject: Re: Lugol's Solutioniodinegroups (DOT) comDate: Monday, August 3, 2009, 11:28 PM Yes it does. Guest guest
???? I have never heard that a doc has to tell you how much Iodoral or Lugols to take. IMO at least 50mg is needed to deal with health issues. I took 50mg Iodoral for 2 years, then finally went to 100mg which I take today. Gracia Swift-Murray wrote: > > > Hi there . Guest guest
Thank you very much . I would like to add that in the past when I did anything to detox I would get terrible Herx reactions. I upped my fish oil to 12 caps a day and Vitamin C to at least 12 grams a day, along with all my usual supplements. Results....no more Herx reactions! I use the weaker fish oil caps so that I can take more through out the day. It is all about detox and hormones. Guest guest
actually I think some ppl with hashis can have probs with iodine ON TOO LITTLE. 50mg Iodoral seems to work well. see Brownstein's book on how iodine affects hashis. and especially do not go by symptoms of ODing on the net. that is the old allopathic view. it would be much better to go by the 24 hr urine testing. http://www.naturalthyroidchoices.com has more info. If a person has already hypothyroid can it make worse the condition? << No , this is not true. Both hypo and hyper are caused by low iodine. In the past, iodine was the treatment doctor’s used for both. As far as too much triggering problems, there are people who are taking 200 mg per day, with no problems. The “triggered problems” are detox symptoms, not too much iodine. Donna in IL

Guest guest
I finally bought some Lugol's 2% solution. Since their labeling includes the disclaimer " Talisman Only, " presumably to ward off the FDA, I have no clue as to how much to take. Breastcancerchoices.org gives milligram dosages in their Iodoral protocol. Does anyone know how to translate milligrams into Lugol's dosages? Even a ballpark idea would be helpful. Thanks, Jeanmarie

Guest guest
I think that you can ask , the moderator, on the iodine group and she should know. I don¹t know the answer. I am thinking that if the iodine doesn't have to pass thriugh my liver maybe tha Hashi's will not be so bad and the cystic breasts will minimize. Guest guest
One of the docs in Suzanne Somers book " Breakthrough " swabbed iodine vaginally for fibrocystic breasts. It's worth looking into. > > Hi, > I am a bit new and I just wanted t know if I can buy Lugol's, I wanted to put it on my cystic breasts. Guest guest
does it say who the name of her doctor is. I think that's impressive that he knew about the iodine. I wonder if he's listed as one of the doctors who know about iodine. thanks, > > > > Hi, > > I am a bit new and I just wanted t know if I can buy Lugol's, I wanted to put it on my cystic breasts.
