Guest guest
I've also been trying to google any kind of information on side effects and haven't come up with anything negative at all. Everything I've read says magnesium should be curing headaches. Hmmmm, I'll keep searching. Thanks, Judy --- In , " laughingpeace " <laughingpeace@...> wrote: > > Hello! > > Last week I finally got in some nigari flakes to make a Magnesum Chloride spray. Has anyone else had issues with getting a headache, and kind of feeling foggy headed after using the spray? The first night I sprayed and rubbed in about 8 squirts. It did tingle and I expected that.... but that night I got a mild headache and I don't think I really slept at all. I kind of just calmly laid awake all night long, it seems like. I've reduced the sprays to about 4 squirts every other day, but I almost always get this headache. Could it be detox or maybe I'm just not supposed to be doing this for some reason? > > I had kind of noticed that when I took epson salt baths I would sometimes get a headache afterwards. > > What do you think? > > Thanks, > Judy >
Guest guest
My best guess would be that the extra Mg is causing an electrolyte imbalance - are you getting enough calcium, potassium and sodium? -Lana " The art of simplicity is a puzzle of complexity. Guest guest
Lana, Hmmmm, I'm not sure. I drink (what I consider) lots of raw milk and raw kefir. At least two tall glasses of the milk each day and a banana is in the kefir shake each morning. I love my sea salt on lots of things. I also take a multi vitamin every day along with FCLO. How can I tell about a shortage or imbalance of these things? I tend to stay away from Dr.s and tests, I haven't been for years and years, do I need a blood test? Thanks so much for your reply! Guest guest
2 tall glasses of milk is by no means a lot in my book (I used to drink a half gallon a day). 16 oz gets you just a bit over the RDA for calcium, which is far less calcium per day than natives consumed. Potassium wise, that's 40% RDA, plus the 14% you'd get assuming your banana is large (8-8 7/8 " long). So that's 54% RDA potassium. How many glasses of kefir are you drinking daily? Are you getting any other potassium foods? You're getting a LOT of magnesium from the epsom/nigari salts - you'd probably benefit from getting closer to the native intake of calcium, and you need at least 100% RDA of potassium. -Lana " The art of simplicity is a puzzle of complexity. Guest guest
Okay... I just googled a quick list of potassium rich foods. :-) I'm getting the banana (we try to get small ones because of the sugar) each morning in our 12 oz. of kefir shake. Potassium wise I also eat several oranges a week, once a day usually cucumbers, peppers, spinich in our salad and several potatoes a week. Oh yeah... we love tumeric in our house a lot! Maybe I'll try to increase my potassium foods, along with adding more milk to my diet. And I think maybe I'd better cut way down on the magnesium for now. This headache and weird feeling I have today kind of makes me think I can't handle it. Or should I continue? Thanks! Guest guest
If it were me, I'd cut down on the magnesium for a week or so till I had adequate calcium and potassium in my diet. Good luck! -Lana " The art of simplicity is a puzzle of complexity. " - Horton On Tue, Nov 17, 2009 at 11:44 AM, laughingpeace <laughingpeace@...>wrote: > Okay...
