I will also tell you that I had baby number three just three days after getting very depressing news about 's prognosis. It was tough to get through because I worried so much about him, but he is just fine - at least at this point he still is, and he is 11. I will also say that it isn't necessarily bad for you to go through some of the grief process now - I think that we learned to appreciate for who she is by thinking that she was going to die soon. Our Make a Wish trip (and stay at Give Kids the World) helped with that as well - seeing so many 'dying' kids so full of life. believes that she has a normal life, and just last night my husband and I were commenting on just how easy it is to please her (compared to her 16 year old brother who no longer thinks we are smart!). We are having her class party at our house today - and she is so excited she can hardly stand it. Her friends are coming to her house...who would have thought that we would get to a point where we could have 15-20 special needs kids over and be looking forward to it. Give yourself some time to learn what the disease might be, and learn to deal with whatever it is. It is ok to worry - just know that it WILL get better - whether you think it will or not. Time does help us deal with all sorts of things in our lives. I wish you the very best. Guest guest
This list is so very upbeat - what would we all do without it! It is true that when we are faced with these challenges we change and for the better. Our family views life so differently now - the glass is always half-full now not half-empty. (though we have our days....) I also believe it has helped my healthy child - she much more tolerance for those that are different and seems that much more caring than many of her peers. Its all in how you look at things I guess. Everyone enjoy the weekend!. karen h Re: Thanks...more > on 5/6/00 6:56 AM, Steve Fitzgerald wrote: > > > > Any wisdom out there for a very depressed mom who is about to have baby #2 in > > 6 weeks? > > > > > > > , > I can't offer any medical interpretations for you, but I will tell you that > is 14 years old and has out-lived even the most optimistic > predictions.
