Guest guest
I'm getting frustrated and need some dietary or other holistic health ideas. First of all, what are the dietary restrictions for having a fungus in the body? I wonder if I may have a fungus in my ears. If anyone is interested in an odd health problem and can spare the time, here's my odd one. I want to visit a doctor and am just about on the verge since my body hasn't cleared this up after 6 months. Thanks in advance for your time! I started about a year ago with my ear canal feeling itchy at times. A few times per month I would be bothered by it. Then we got a dog and I noticed about the same time I got " hay fever " type allegies. I stopped dairy products except butter and it helped a lot--a lot less mucus coming out of my sinuses. We got rid of the dog for other reasons and I thought maybe the sinus stuff would stop, but it hasn't. I've been very good about not eating any dairy except butter. As of today I'm stopping butter, but honestly I don't expect a big result from that. **I've never had a problem with dairy before except during viral colds and flu. And, I haven't had hay fever since I was a child. I'm now 35 years. However, in the mean time, my ears have gotten worse. This is my daily pattern: The ears " fill up " at night. I feel like they are full of mucus because I feel almost like I could " pop " them like you do on an airplane when the pressure adjusts. Sometimes I can but not usually--no relief. Also, I sometimes get a rattle-y vibration when I talk, a noise in my own ear. When I swallow I get a little crunchy noise. The fullness is usually at night, sometimes into the day. In the past week it has been constant (so this is getting worse). The ears are feeling full even though I don't have sinus drainage every day. The usual daily pattern, about 85-90% of the time, in the morning I wake up and have an episode for about an hour of clearing out my sinuses and sneezing. However, this is strange, I don't think my sinuses are filling up at night. I think there is some sort of reaction happening and the mucus is being made at the time of the episode. Then after that, I am pretty well the rest of the day with not much of a sinus drainage problem. With the ears feeling full now all the time, I feel as though this maybe is originating in the ears and not something that's starting in the front sinuses. I know that some ear infections are caused by fungus. So, I'm going to ask for an ear culture. That's all I can think of right now. I've already visited an allergist but I didn't like their standard medical approach--some things just didn't seem right about it to me. I can explain that if necessary.
