Guest guest
It's good to get the tests, for a baseline; if later tests show numbers drastically different it can alert you. I am healthy, eat well, exercise, see an herbalist and a traditional Chinese practitioner. This TCP, who is also an acupunturist (of course) and midwife, had me get my baseline tests and she spent two weeks analyzing and correlating the results. When we went over them line by line, we found by correlating some of her flagged items that I have low stomach acid and am not absorbing all of the very healthy food I eat, for example. The lab tests didn't show that of course, but her process of correlating the results did. I would never have known without her workup, as I don't have any specific symptoms. There's no harm in having a baseline and then periodic tests, a blood test is not the same as taking mainstream medicines to mask symptoms. Avoiding tests because of fear of the results is not healthy - if indeed something comes back that concerns you, you then have the information you need to make changes for the better. Guest guest
I am with you as well and haven't been to a doctor in probably 10 years. I tend to feel that you find problems when you look for problems. Thats one reason as long as I've always felt healthy I didn't feel like I needed to go to look for something wrong. I'm kind of worried that looking at something like my cholesterol numbers might just cause me unneeded worry. Maybe a vitamin D test? I'm not interested in a mammogram, I kind of don't like what I've read about how much radiation comes from them. > > > > What kind of tests do some of you get? > > > > Thanks, > > Judy > > >
Guest guest
I mix hot water, hydrogen peroxide, and baking soda together and then rinse my mouth with it for 1-5 minutes. I also wet my tooth brush with hydrogen peroxide and put baking soda on it. This works well. Holt From: haecklers <haecklers@...> Subject: Re: needed medical tests? Date: Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 2:12 PM Â My friend's daughter has soft teeth due to the mother having high fevers while pregnant with her. She was worried her daughter had 3 cavities. I told her about the iodine treatment posted here awhile back for stopping the bacteria that cause cavities. She took her daughter to the dentist who said two of them no longer were cavities - they were hardening. She said a third was growing between two teeth and recommended they floss with dental floss dipped in iodine to see if it kills the bacteria in there. She's now a believer in the iodine treatment. > > > > > > I don't bother with any medical tests. Guest guest
Here's a couple good articles I happened upon:  http://www.care2.com/greenliving/homemade-toothpaste.html http://green./blog/care2/4/40-fantastic-uses-for-baking-soda.html  It's good to keep children away from flouride until they are atleast 7 years old. At my dentist there was a warning about flouride decaying kids teeth under that age. You shouldn't need to brush your kids teeth if you are breast feeding.  Make sure your kids are getting the fermented codliver oil. If they aren't getting raw milk then they should probably have the high vitamin butter oil too. These will be sufficient sources of vitamins a, d, and k. Raw milk is also a great source of minerals. Have beef or chicken bone broth from " Nourishing Traditions " too.  I personally feel brushing with a hard brissled truth brush is best but you a lot of people would be turned off by it because it hurts so much. It scrapes up your gums but within a week the gums get perfectly used to it and it no longer hurts. You may want to adapt to flussing before you consider going that route though.  Holt From: B <rachstuff@...> Subject: Re: needed medical tests? Date: Thursday, June 17, 2010, 9:52 PM  Awww man, too bad it ends before the lady tells us any specific things to do (besides avoid toothpaste and hard brushing)! She said that you can reverse decay quickly in a matter of days and weeks if you do what she teaches, but then it is over. Have to purchase the whole conference recording I guess. Despite 18+ months of breast feeding and being raised on whole foods and little sugar and for the past few years raw milk, my 3 kids all have terrible teeth. I think it is from the baby tooth paste we used for years on them which is primarily glycerine which coats the teeth and prevents remineralization. I just don't know what I should do now. Our oldest daughter had baby root canals and fillings done when she was four and now that she is eight our new pediatric dentist (the adult dentist didn't mention anything) says that there is more decay now around those fillings in her molars and they need to be dug out and filled again. How deep can a cavity be and still heal itself? Is there any chance we can stop the decay beneath and beside a composite filling? I need to start supplementing extra Vit D and K. I may be able to floss them with iodine, but I doubt I can get the kids to rinse with hydrogen peroxide and I'm a little scared to. Even the iodine bottle says POISON on it, for external use only. Guest guest
I don't know about fillings but keep in mind that some of mercury in them. Mercury is toxic in such high quantities and will cause problems down the line. Fluoride should be completely avoided too. Gerber's baby food may likely cause cavities and in that case it is a good idea to brush the teeth.  Another mineral that is good to have is magnesium chloride.  http://life-enthusiast.com/usa/magnesium-gallon-p-820.html  This site talks about how to apply it and how much to take. 90% of people in the world are deficient in magnesium and no amount of modern foods will supply our needs within a reasonable budget.  Holt From: B <rachstuff@...> Subject: Re: needed medical tests?
