I'm not interested in a mammogram, I kind of don't like what I've read about how much radiation comes from them. > > What kind of tests do some of you get? > > Thanks, > Judy >
Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for your reply. I think if I were going to a traditional Chinese practitioner like you are I would get some tests done. I don't have anyone around besides regular doctors to help me interpret the test results though. :-/ Thanks, Judy > > It's good to get the tests, for a baseline; if later tests show numbers > drastically different it can alert you. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, Thats good to hear! :-) I was out to dinner with friends when they started talking about Dr. appointments and when pressed I finally told them I hadn't been in years and I got in big trouble. :-) I'm glad someone else is out there like me. I tend to feel that you find problems when you look for problems. Thats one reason as long as I've always felt healthy I didn't feel like I needed to go to look for something wrong. Thanks, Judy > > I don't bother with any medical tests. Guest guest
I'm in full agreement. Went to the doctor twice in the last 10 years. Once for a real bad cough and then for chest pain. Had tests for my heart and lungs, everything was OK, just too much wood stove smoke. I stay as far away from the doctor's office as I'm able. Belinda > > > > I don't bother with any medical tests. Guest guest
We don't go very often. The last time, it was for my kid, who had a bad sore throat and wanted to go. When the ped looked at the paperwork, he asked if we had moved away and then back again. I said, " No. Just staying healthy. " The look he gave me could have killed! Then he started talking up the Gardasil shot. I wasn't trying to look scary back at him, but he took a good look at my face and stopped pushing it. We have been better about going to the dentist, but my long-time dentist just retired and we had to go to another one. My kid is 14 and has never had a cavity! Her ear infections stopped when I switched her back to whole milk at age 5-1/2 (after 3-1/2 years on 2% milk, at the recommendation of practically every conventional health provider--before I learned about the WAPF site). The new dentist seemed to be actively LOOKING for things to charge for...whitening...an appliance to prevent teeth grinding at night...braces. And the crown he put on has given me nothing but trouble. It gets food under it all the time. I wish I could still go to my old dentist. At least he was interested in Dr. Price's work, even if he didn't actively practice that way. > > > > I don't bother with any medical tests. Guest guest
My friend's daughter has soft teeth due to the mother having high fevers while pregnant with her. She was worried her daughter had 3 cavities. I told her about the iodine treatment posted here awhile back for stopping the bacteria that cause cavities. She took her daughter to the dentist who said two of them no longer were cavities - they were hardening. She said a third was growing between two teeth and recommended they floss with dental floss dipped in iodine to see if it kills the bacteria in there. She's now a believer in the iodine treatment. > > > > > > I don't bother with any medical tests. Guest guest
Awww man, too bad it ends before the lady tells us any specific things to do (besides avoid toothpaste and hard brushing)! She said that you can reverse decay quickly in a matter of days and weeks if you do what she teaches, but then it is over. Have to purchase the whole conference recording I guess. Despite 18+ months of breast feeding and being raised on whole foods and little sugar and for the past few years raw milk, my 3 kids all have terrible teeth. I think it is from the baby tooth paste we used for years on them which is primarily glycerine which coats the teeth and prevents remineralization. I just don't know what I should do now. Our oldest daughter had baby root canals and fillings done when she was four and now that she is eight our new pediatric dentist (the adult dentist didn't mention anything) says that there is more decay now around those fillings in her molars and they need to be dug out and filled again. How deep can a cavity be and still heal itself? Is there any chance we can stop the decay beneath and beside a composite filling? I need to start supplementing extra Vit D and K. I may be able to floss them with iodine, but I doubt I can get the kids to rinse with hydrogen peroxide and I'm a little scared to. Even the iodine bottle says POISON on it, for external use only. Guest guest
To strengthen teeth, I have done the following with good success: * Oil Pulling -- swish coconut or pure sesame seed oil around in your mouth for 5 minutes and *spit it out*. It pulls toxins and seems to strengthen the teeth significantly. This is surprisingly effective. * Golden Seal -- pack your gums in goldenseal powder for 10-25 minutes. If tincture, do what you can to keep it on your teeth. Tastes not so good, but helps a lot. * Calcium Bentonite Clay -- I also swish wet Pascalite clay around in my mouth and swallow it. * Ascended health has a toothpaste with Clay, adaptogenic herbs, mint and some other stuff that works well too -- http://www.ascendedhealth.com/products_dentalcare.htm#gum-disease-01 I buy my clay from this source. It is the cheapest and has food grade clay -- http://www.specialclay.com/servlet/StoreFront Good site with information -- http://www.eytonsearth.org -- W.
