Guest guest
Whenever I get hiccups that won't go away, no matter what I try, I take milk of magnesia. I understand that hiccups are a symptom of magnesium deficiency. Eating a lot of sugar and starch can make you deficient on magnesium because you have to make a lot of insulin if you eat a lot of sugar and starch. Insulin is built around magnesium. So if you're making a lot of insulin, you're using up your magnesium. I used to enjoy eating a bowl of cereal right before bed, but I noticed that I tended to have hiccups in the morning if I did that. Whenever I have a muscle spasm issue (no matter where it is), I try to increase my intake of foods containing potassium and magnesium. And I will often drink a glass of water with sea salt in it. To make a pitcher of it, take a half gallon of water and add a half teaspoon of sea salt to it and stir. Taking supplemental minerals in water is the best way. I understand that taking your protein foods without fat can prevent you from getting the most out of them. Got a B12 deficiency? Beef and organs and raw milk and other high (complete) protein foods are a good source of B vitamins. But if you always eat them without fat, you probably aren't getting the most out of it. Of course, you want to use natural fat--not industrially processed vegetable oil. That should go without saying on this forum, right? ;-) --- In , " slbooks4me " <beauty4ashesisaiah61@...> wrote: > > I have heard this before but don't see how it's my thyroid as opposed to food when if i burp food could come back up, if i bend down it feels as though the food is going to be forced into my mouth etc. It is food, not a lump. > > HCl - i was on GAPS it made this worse (and i got constipated, still am 1.5 yrs later since going back to a low carb WAP - prior to GAPS was not and this food issue was more rare than frequent). I t ook loads of pro b's like 20 pills a day tec... of the BK as the book and GAPS forum say after removing fiber if this happens you need more flora. SO i was taking laods of pro b's and daily ferments eithre drinks or veggies - at least 2 or more cups. It advises taking HCl which i did, plus i was taking a broad spectrum enzyme, sweedish bitters. Drinking RAW ACV or lemon in my water, ferments, etc. Sometimes all of the above before and after meals. > > I was taking up to 6 pills of HCl per meal plus a couple or more of the broad spectrum. Like another mentioned i was scared to take anymore cause it seemed like this should be high enough between pills, the drinking and bitters. When doing all this i would get burning feelings later in my throat and food not going down was not really alleviated. So i pretty much stopped all that supplemental stuff. Still have the food issue but no more burning and gurgling in my throat or feel it all raising up when in bed. It seemed to me it was all the stuff making it worse like too much acid cause i never had it creeping up at night or gurgling in my throat you could actually even hear it, not just feel it. > > I tried the baking soda test before all of this and the result was i should not need any digestive assistance. > > I get hiccups a lot which one WAPF article indicates reflux. Sometimes as soon as i wake hiccups. Or after my morning water. So it can be when i am not eating, have not eaten for 14 hrs and i get hiccups from drinking water or raw milk. I burp after almost everything i eat now including raw foods. I used to never burp like that only after starting WAPF and taking more fats like CLO etc. Now it is everything including water. > > I have not gone to see a GP cause i figure they will blow it off say here too much acid take this when i think there is something else going on but do not know how to pursue it. What tests are available. How do they check for a hiatal hernia. Is there other things it could be? Does delayed gastric emptying cause this if so what causes that? I am not sure what direction to go. > > > All advice is appreciated. > > >
Guest guest
Thanks always eat all my food with good fat (garlic butter, VCO, fat from the meat) or broth for digestion. So that is not the problem unless of course i am lipase deficient - not able to digest fats then fat coating all of my food would make them harder to digest i would think. I don't know if i actually have a B12 defic. Eat plenty of red meat, don't eat organs use them in the broth though which is constant flow that i use to cook almost everything in. Also take mag sup a few times a week and drink a lot of kefired coconut water - great electrolyte balance. I think i get enough mag?? between food, the coconut water, and the few times i take the pure powder supp. I don't eat sugar all that often nor grains. If i do have grains it is a small serving of usually sprouted or soaked non gluten grain. But again i really limit them. I drink sea salt in water or lemon water through out the day. Not as much as i should i am trying to get in a better habit of this. Thanks! --- In , " BeautyIsAGeek " <toyotaokiec@...> wrote: >I understand that hiccups are a symptom of magnesium deficiency. > > Eating a lot of sugar and starch can make you deficient on magnesium > Taking supplemental minerals in water is the best way. > > I understand that taking your protein foods without fat can prevent you from getting the most out of them.
