Guest guest
Hi, Did you ever get an explanation for this? Dr. Cohen at CC says it is a common problem in persons with Mitochrondrical disorders. I have had some of this but thought nothing of it - until now! Guest guest
I have a metallic taste upon awakening after a nap or in the morning. The morning taste went away two years ago when my two amalgam fillings were replaced. The taste has returned last year. Dentist and doctor recently had me do a challenge metal urine test.Am on " oral chelation " product now. Phil

Guest guest
I wouldn't be suprised about a matellic taste. You do have a small tube-type structure that runs from the ear to the upper throat.. I don't recall if it starts in the inner ear or the middle ear...but it helps in equalizing pressure in the ear. I'd spell the structure out, but I can't remember how it is spelled :-) Pete > Did a lot of you have a metallic taste in your mouth 2 days after the > surgery? > Thank you > > " Happy hearts and happy faces, Happy play in grassy places -- That was > how, in ancient ages, Children grew to kings and sages. Guest guest
I had the metallic taste only with my second implant and not the first one. The second one was done on the right. Hmmm..Could it be stronger if the right side is done? Maybe just for me. Deb - I didn't lose any weight either so don't feel bad. Guest guest
I had, and still have, more of a numb sensation in half my mouth. I still haven't regained my sense of taste on the implant side. I'm beginning to think it's lost permanently. It's sometimes a little frustrating--can't get the full, rich enjoyment of, say, chocolate. But not altogether a bad thing, and worth it to have my hearing restored. Guest guest
I would be considering syphilitic remedies as a homeopath. Obvious ones are mercurius and the nosode syphilinum. However, I would need more symptoms to make a real comment. However, I would certainly be looking for a homeopathic connection with such a clear miasmatic symptom. Let me know if you want more info. Guest guest
What kind of job do they have? Do they work around chemicals? You will see this with those described as well as those with a lot of mercury (old fillings) in their mouth. Guest guest
I had the problem too for a long time. An acid condition with metals in the mouth will cause this. I had my metals taken out. What a difference. Ph may also be adjusted. I needed more Potassium and Magnesium in my diet. Guest guest
hi clare, i would consider mercurius sol. the most dangerous thing, one can do in this situation. when a metallic taste is there in the mouth, it is OBVIOUS, that it´s to do with metals. giving mercurius now, can only worsen the whole thing, because it feeds the body one more time with the information of what is making it ill in the first place. plus, what can happen, is, that mercury is being mobilised and thus moved more deeply into the brain, because there is nothing to bind to. and the amalgams probably remain in the mouth. miasmatic backgrounds are there for sure, but toxins should be addressed first. never ever with homepathics alone. that´s a boomerang. marlene RE: RE: Metallic Taste I would be considering syphilitic remedies as a homeopath. Guest guest
I had a VERY bad metallic taste in my mouth after getting my amalgams removed. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) aka Meridian-Based Energy psycho-therapy took care of it. It's important to remove the cause of it, but in the meantime, rebalancing meridians regarding the problem can be very helpful. le On Fri, 12 Dec 2003 10:27:00 +0100, Kunold wrote > hi clare, > i would consider mercurius sol. the most dangerous thing, one can do in this situation. when a metallic taste is there in the mouth, it is OBVIOUS, that it´s to do with metals. giving mercurius now, can only worsen the whole thing, because it feeds the body one more time with the information of what is making it ill in the first place. plus, what can happen, is, that mercury is being mobilised and thus moved more deeply into the brain, because there is nothing to bind to. and the amalgams probably remain in the mouth. > miasmatic backgrounds are there for sure, but toxins should be addressed first. never ever with homepathics alone. that´s a boomerang. > marlene >  > RE: Metallic Taste > > > > I have a prospective client who is complaining of a metallic taste in her mouth. She says that the taste is there all of the time. >  > Has anyone had a client with this complaint? If so, what process did you use that was successful? >  > Thanks >  > Harman >  >  > > ............................................ > >
Guest guest
hi, first of all, i would like to apologize for my comment, that may have been a little too harsh.... i didn´t mean to be harsh, just wanted to point out, that homeopathic mercury -to my oppinion-is dangerous. my "tone" was probably due to my own bad experience with mercury. sorry clare!!!!! thinking about it, i was wondering...., that when a syphilitic miasm can be "identified" by metallic taste in the mouth, this may have to do with the fact, that in earlier times, syphilis was being treated with mercury, because mercury inhibited the growth of syphilis bacteria treponema....?. any homeopaths have more info on this??? or is this only a co-incidence?? marlene RE: Metallic Taste > > > > I have a prospective client who is complaining of a metallic taste in her mouth. Guest guest
The metallic taste seems to be quite a common problem. I assume it is due to ketosis, and some pts use sugar-free Tic Tacs or something similar. The excessive gas is also common, and could be due to lactose intolerance, swallowing air, etc. Roxanne Bijold, MSE, RD, LD Registered Dietitian St 's/Duluth Clinic 400 E 3rd St Duluth, MN 55805 (218) 786-3092 rbijold1@... -----Original Message-----From: Dillenbeck [mailto:.Dillenbeck@...]Sent: Monday, August 30, 2004 3:21 PM Subject: metallic taste Hello, Has anyone had any experience with patients experiencing a metallic taste in their mouths after surgery? Guest guest
I have many patients complain of a metallic taste, especially after drinking water. I usually hear of this w/in the first 6 weeks postop. I have been attributing this to ketosis and after pts. add back whole grain CHO, it usually subsides.
