Guest guest
--honestly not sure the best way to do it is take it and eat a good diet u wont feel better till ur yeast is better ur candida or whatever it is u may have =) make sure its soy free grain free corn suagr free gluten free as these can be bad iam still trying to find one that doesnt feed candida the two i posted r the best i could find i never ordered from custom probiotics b4 .. Basically the less ingredents the better its best to get just a powder probiotic and mix it in water and take it alone with nothing else maybe b4 bed or when u first wake up all the probiotics are processed and have junk in them !! - In , jeannekrieg@c... wrote: > > I have never used a probiotic. Probiotics are very important to add however, because you need to implant them in the bowels to balance out the flora and fauna with good bacteria necessary to good bowel function and to keep candida in check. The best probiotic is cabbage rejuvelac. Bee

It seems as though it would be better to supplement with numerous synergistic species/strains -- you don't want to replace one imbalance with another. Guest guest
Hi Sarina, FOS stands for Fructooligosaccharides and it is a saccharide used as an artificial sweetener. Manufacturers who use it in their probiotics claim that it does not feed the bad bacteria. Others, like this group, claim that it does feed bad bacteria. HOS stands for homeostatic soil organism and it's those organisms in Garden of Life that are the good bacteria. I don't see why you couldn't take it if you are ready for probiotics in general. I have took them for years then switched to something else. Some people claim they are no good but then those people are trying to sell their own probiotics so who knows. a >Does anyone know if " Garden of Life's Primal Defense " is approved by Bee to be used? It does not have FOS but instead has HOS, is there a >difference? >Thanks, >Sarina

It is best to get the " tried and true " simple products I recommend in my article and on the supplements list. Besides, Garden of Life products are terribly expensive. FOS is sugar while HOS is derived from the soil. Bee
Guest guest
Bee, its not HOS, its HSO and since cabbage rejuvelac, that you recommend, gets its " starting " bacteria from the soil that the cabbage is grown in, to recommend soil derived bacteria in one instance and not another seems contradictory, can you explain why you see a difference between those two items? Jo ==>Hi Jo. You are correct, it is HSO. Cabbage is " grown in soil " but the cabbage itself doesn't contain actual soil; the soil has been transformed into vegetable matter. Unlike HSO which is made directly from soil. Bee
Guest guest
Bee, I think you missed what I was talking about. I didn't say that cabbage contains soil. If you reread what I wrote, you will see that my point was that HSO bacteria are FROM the soil and that the bacteria on cabbage (that allows a person to make rejuvelac) are from the soil as well. As the cabbage grows, microbes from the soil attach themselves to the plant. The reason organic cabbage works better for making rejuvelac is that organic soils have higher quantities of HSO bacteria. So again, why do you recommend HSO derived bacteria in one case (cabbage rejuvelac) but not in regards to a probiotic supplement? Your explaination does not answer this question. Guest guest
Jo, cabbage rejuvelac is not processed like HSO products, however I do not wish to argue the point any further. If you want to have them please be my guest. Then please let us/me know how you do on them. Bee
Guest guest
Most of the good bacteria in the intestines is lactobacillus and cabbage rejuvelac is high in it, where as HSO contains many other types of bacteria. It is better, simplier and cheaper to make cabbage rejuvelac or take non-dairy acidophilus lactobacills rather than HSO products. Bee > > Bee, I think you missed what I was talking about. Guest guest
I will admit, I have not been as good as I should in taking my probiotics daily, but am making the effort to make sure that I do now, as I believe it is as important as the antibiotics. Can anyone share with me what dosage of probiotic they are taking, and if they do so once a day, or throughout the day. Thanks! Guest guest
I use PB-8, and take 3 to 6 daily depending on my yeast overgrowth manifestation. It's stable at room temp, doesn't need to be refrigerated. I found it to be rather costly locally, but order it for about half the price. Guest guest
Wow. Sorry, I've never heard of Bifid H90210 or whatever it's called If you're looking for a higher count probiotic you might want to try custom probiotics autism blend. I've heard nothing but good things about it. My kids have been on it for a week and so far so good. My littlest one is super picky, and she drinks it with no problem at all... it's a powder that you mix in water or watered down juice. Guest guest
Does anyone know if bottles of prob's like Natren etc. be frozen to further their shelf life?
Guest guest
Natren is the best probiotics there is. They are a company over 700 yrs old and are the first to invent probiotics. I found this on the web and it answers your question. " Most probiotic species (especially those derived from dairy) are quite fragile and must be freeze dried through a process called lyphilization to give them a fighting chance. That is why you may only see probiotics in the freezer or refrigerated sections of your health store. Freeze drying often weakens the cell structure of the probiotic, making it harder to activate in the intestine.
