Guest guest
She can ask for a progesterone supplement.... That's really all I know to do. However, honestly, sometimes it can be an issue I think of an unhealthy pregnancy, not unhealthy hormone levels if that makes sense. I know it sounds cold and I apologize. I had the same issue when I was trying to conceive and basically, my reproductive endocrinologist said that the issue wasn't necessarily that my body couldn't make enough progesterone but that my body understood that the pregnancy should not continue. Sure enough, the next time I got pregnant, my hormone levels were fine. If this pregnancy is successful, that's fantastic, and if not, she can get her hormone levels checked during her cycle to ensure that she doesn't have a luteal phase defect (which can be treated with Clomid, for one thing) which can result in chronic low progesterone and the inability to carry any pregnancy. I'm really sorry, and I know this sounds....a little clinical, but I really don't intend for it to. I wish her all the best, and will definitely be thinking of her. From: kvcshake@... Date: Tue, 22 Jun 2010 21:35:30 +0000 Subject: Low progestrone levels during initial pregnancy Hi, My friend had just missed her period and the pregnancy test came out positive. However, her Obs./Gyn. says that her progesterone levels are too low. The doc. said that progesterone levels should usually double in their level during the first and second months. And if that does not happen, the pregnancy will not continue. My friend is a little anxious as to what can be done about it. Can anyone throw some light on this ? TIA, Suman. _________________________________________________________________ Hotmail is redefining busy with tools for the New Busy.
