Guest guest
I got my first script of LDN from Dr. Bihari and the 1 hour phone consultation with him set me back $500! This was back in 2006. Soon after that I came to find out the my regular local doctor who is on my insurance plan was perfectly happy to write the script (ouch, could have saved $500) and hence my local doc wrote all the refills for the next 3 years that I took LDN, before deciding to stop on my own because it wasn't helping. Likewise I asked the same local doc today if he would write the script for the Prokarin patch . He looked it up on his FDA approved list and couldn't find it but nevertheless said, " sure " and wrote the Prokarin script. Bless his heart. I remember he told me once several years ago " we are a partnership. " I have a great doctor--He is actually a conventional doctor but he knows MS is hard to treat and basically whatever I come in having researched if I need his " Hancock " he is willing to go along with it. Now as to whether or not I am going to proceed to fill and use the Prokarin I haven't decided, but I do have a script from an M.D. I hope others can find a doc like the one I have. Like Joy told her doctor about the " insanity " thing, sometimes you do have to play a bit of a game with the docs to get what you want (sometimes I play a little dumb with my doc for example so he doesn't feel like I am calling all the shots) but whatever, it seems to work. ________________________________ To: mscured Sent: Tue, March 29, 2011 1:10:56 PM Subject: Re: Email Response from Dr. Woeller~Prokarin  I hate to be a " Kiljoy " but this sure looks and sounds like many other that I have seen ... Guest guest
Anybody try Skip's in Boca Raton. He is our favorite LDN Compounder. I wonder if he does Prokarin? Also, anybody know what type (patch?) is dispensed by Custom RX in Bellingham. I found them right away on Googly. > > Custom Rx Prescription Shoppe in Bellingham, WA has the free first month offer and they take Medicaid and SS part 4. They ship. This information was taken from their website but I haven't spoken with them to verify. >
Guest guest
The patch is actually a ready to apply disc. It was originally a tube of cream that had to be refrigerated and applied to a patch. Refrigeration is not necessary for the newer product. I used Skip's when I took LDN. Skip talked with me when I had questions. Very personable pharmacy. I don't know if they do Prokarin. Ask them the next time you order LDN. > > Anybody try Skip's in Boca Raton. He is our favorite LDN Compounder. Guest guest
Wow, that's good to know. The GoodShape group is where I got the information. Prokarin is shipped overseas and it must come specially packed. > > You do have to keep the patch refrigerated !!! You can only keep it out of the > fridge for 7-10 days. Heat breaks down the histamine. It says so in the > instructions.
Guest guest
This is from Elaine's site: http://www.edmsllc.com/QA-Prokarin_Disc.htm The Prokarin™ Disc can be stored at room temperature, but for the longest shelf life and stability it is recommended that you store it in the refrigerator. When traveling it is not necessary to keep it in a cooler or refrigerator, but do protect it from extreme heat or cold. Do not leave it in the vehicle on warm or cold temperature days as this can deteriorate the disc and its potency. > > Wow, that's good to know. The GoodShape group is where I got the information.
