The more you take the better. Personally, I like Natren's or Flora Source. Yogurt does not qualify as a probiotic when you are taking drugs. Guest guest
Hi We just use probiotics that come in capsule or powdered form. I open up the capsule and put it into cool or room-temp juice or food, couldn't be easier. I think probiotics are generally very mild tasting, so it doesn't affect the taste. Might be a good idea to check with the manufacturer to see which ones can work outside of a capsule, and if it's better to dose on an empty stomach or with food. hope this helps René > > I ran out of the Houston Chewable probiotics, and wondering if there are any other chewable brands I can give our daughter who does not swallow pills. Guest guest
You can open capsules and put into a little juice and give that to them before they eat. Guest guest
We use ThreeLac with great results! It is a powder that I just mix in juice and have them drink right away (so it doesn't sit there). I give one packet before breakfast and lunch. You can order it from Global Health Trax 760-542-3000 Karin Message: 17 Date: Sat, 26 Nov 2005 11:22:54 -0800 (PST) From: Ken Maher <kwmaher29@...> Subject: probiotics I ran out of the Houston Chewable probiotics, and wondering if there are any other chewable brands I can give our daughter who does not swallow pills. Guest guest
Hi~ You could try 3lac (http://3lac.net/) which is a powder that comes in individual packets & tastes similar to a lemon cookie, or Kyo-dophilus (http://www.holisticheal.com/store/product.php? productid=61 & cat=0 & page=1). I use those or I just open the capsules of other probiotics and dump the contents into my kids' drinks. Guest guest
Phil, I have taken Probitic 8 on and off. It is a good product, but keep it refregerated. I am now taking 2 Culturelle (keep refregerated) capsules which stopped my diarrhea that started with Ketek & Amox. In addition I take All Flora by New Chapter. I think it is good to alternate. Introduce Kefir and plain yogurt also. Lida > >I thought I'd take a break from using Primal Defense. Guest guest
For us, since we are constantly fighting the yeast beast due to chelation, I rotate my son's probiotics every three or four days. I usually rotate three probiotics through but occasionally I add a new probiotic and rotate one out as well. This has worked well for us. Other parents I know also use this same schedule, since we all are using the 3/4 day low dose chelation protocol. hth Kathleen larsin <larsin@...> wrote: Can anyone tell me why and how often to rotate probiotic? Guest guest
Amber, The low dose 3/4 day protocol is one used by many people for heavy metal toxcity including mercury. This was developed by Andy Cuttler and there is a list group that has been a lifesaver to me as well as my son's rescue angels from Generation Rescue. I chelate my son with a three days on four days off protocol, using oral DMSA and oral ALA which I administer in low doses every three hours round the clock three days on and no chelators for four days. I also use enzymes, probiotics and other supplements needed for proper chelation. This is the safest protocol I have found after doing months of research while deciding about seeing a DAN! doctor. I brought this protocol to my son's pediatrician who is also a D.O. and he is doing great. Other friends have cancelled their DAN! appointments and are now seeing my son's ped as well. The list group for this chelation protocol is the list. I know that many of the families on that list also subscribe to this enzyme list since enzymes are a used for proper chelation support. Guest guest
She is in , CA. I just changed my son's pediatrician and signed up with her but haven't seen her yet. I also went with Kathleen's recommendation as we live about 35 minutes away. We do have a DAN Dr but it is always helpful to have a good Pediatrician that is on board with biomed. I do recommend to get on regional list as well and ask others in your area if they have a recommendation for such Dr in your area, because though still small number, more pediatrician attend DAN conferences and/or through parents are becoming sympathetic to the biomed treatment. As far as the chelation protocol, you can buy Andy Cutler's book " The Amalgam Illness " and if you then find any sympathetic Dr to write for the tests you can perhaps proceed. Also, if you are going with Cutler's protocol, You should join list for support. Best, Haleh --- " Dianne@tara team " <zdianne123@...> wrote: > Where is this wonderful D.O. located? Guest guest
What we do is give the enzymes before the meal and the probiotics just after it....seems to work well for us...
Guest guest
On Kirkman labs website, in the description for some of their probiotics they say its OK to take them with enzymes. http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/products/probiotics/pro_bio/H_PROBIO_Gold_C_60_Spec04\ 2.html However, in DeFelice's book on page 219 it says some parents found taking them separately gave a better response. Out of convenience I've been giving them to our daughter at the same time, but we're just getting started with the enzymes so I haven't had a chance to compare giving them seperately. probiotics I'm sure this has been addressed, but can't find it... do probiotics need to be taken apart from enzymes? will enzymes act on the probiotics?? thank you! Guest guest
Go to www.enzymestuff.com <http://www.enzymestuff.com/> and look in the probiotics section there are a lot of good suggestions there. We us Custom Probiotics Adult Formula CP-1 as well as Klaire Therbiotic Complete and my infant son uses Udo's Choice but it contains a little corn. probiotics Does anyone know of a really good probiotic that I can use for my 3 year old son - that doesn't contain milk, wheat, soy, yeast, fructose or sorbitol? I got chewables but then realized they have sorbitol as the sweetener and that can cause diarhea (which is something I am trying to prevent). Preferably one that doesn't have too many restrictions as to when to take it. I really need advice on this issue because it will really help our yeast treatment be beneficial to him. Thank you all. Guest guest
The two brands I am thinking of now are GI Health and Klaire. I can find the links for you if you'd like? With the SCD diet you have to avoid inulin which comes from the chicory root. Klaire has inulin, GI Health does not. I guess somehow inulin is a " no no " on the SCD(specific carbohydrate diet). I just wanted to mention that incase you were on that diet or planning to be. I have been giving my son the Bifido complex from Kirkman's but it has inulin as well so I'm planning on switching to GI Health. Guest guest
These are all no-no's for us as well, and so far we are having no problems with Kirkman's Inulin-free probio. Probiotics are great but we would be lost without Grapefruit Seed Extract. It works like nothing else. I know we can't keep using it forever so we're looking into alternatives to rotate with, but for us GSE is the Yeast Exterminator Extraordinaire. > > Could anybody recommend a probiotic that might be tolerated by my > super reactive son?
