A TWO-DAY PROGRAM on WRITING GRANT PROPOSALS

23rd & 24th MARCH 2009

The Center for Psychological Counselling, Bangalore University is

offering a two-day training programme for Counselors, Psychologists

& Social Workers on " Writing Grant Proposals " to help them learn the

skills of " Grant Writing " .

On 23rd & 24th MARCH 2009

It is easy to submit proposals but extremely difficult to get grant

approval. The success of approval depends on knowledge, skills,

ability to conceptualise and development of a logical sequence.

Understanding the essentials of grant writing is of fundamental

importance for academic/research career development.

This two-day training provides the essential components of

organizing, structuring, and presenting a proposal for successful

grant funding from either public or private sources. It will

clarify, simplify, and expedite an individual's ability to secure

grants for their preferred projects & areas of research. This

training covers grants-related terminology, how to conduct funding

searches, forming grant writing teams, writing comprehensive,

persuasive grant proposals & grant writing for public & private

sources.

About us

Center for Psychological Counselling has been effectively involved

in preparation of project proposals which have been accepted by

various national and international agencies. Bangalore University

has a team of professionals who are experienced in preparation and

presentation of successful research proposals. Bangalore University

is a Sub Recipient of grant from Global Fund (GFATM7) for Capacity

Building in HIV/AIDS Counselling.

Objectives of the training programme

•Dos & don'ts of writing grant proposals

•Augment expertise for researching and understanding the priorities

of donors

•Develop strategic skills that contribute to effective grant writing

& receiving on-going funding

Participants will learn to:

•Set and determine funding priorities

•Research and identify potential funding sources

•Create the right fit with the funding agency

•Address successfully the guidelines of proposals

•Identify and effectively write the key elements of proposals

•Integrate each component of the grant into the final product

•Develop focused and realistic budgets

•Package professional grants submissions

•Initiate contact; receive feedback and follow-up with funding

agencies

Eligibility for participation

Interested Psychologists, Counsellors, Social workers, Health care

professionals and Academic staff and faculty of the departments of

Counselling, Psychology & Social Work interested in receiving

funding for critical programs and projects. Minimum 2 years

experience above related field.

Admission Criteria

The applications will be considered on a first-come-first-served-

basis. The candidate must register his/her name at the Center for

Psychological Counselling, Jnana Bharathi Campus, Bangalore-560056,

before 9th March 2009 via email

(psychologicalcounselling@...). The registration will be

confirmed before 12th March 2009.

Training Methodology

This two day training program is based on the principle of mutuality

and reciprocal interaction. Participants will work in groups and

pairs. The discussion will be facilitated by the trainers, with

expert inputs from them. The training program relies strongly on

interactive methods designed to maximize adult learning. '

Date: 23rd & 24th March, 2009.

Timings: 9a.m. to 5 p.m. (on both days)

Venue: Center for Psychological Counselling, Jnana Bharathi campus,

Bangalore University, Bangalore-560056

Registration Fee: Rs.450/- (inclusive of course material, lunch and

refreshments).

The registration fee may be paid through Demand Draft only, drawn in

favour of " The Finance Officer, Bangalore University, Bangalore-

560056 " payable at Bangalore and posted to The Coordinator, Center

for Psychological Counselling, JB Campus, Bangalore University,

Bangalore 56. The DD should reach us on or before 18th March 2009.
