What kind of doctor gives you the ELISA test and is it covered by standard insurance plans? > Insurance didn't cover the ELISA for my son, said it was " experimental " . I paid $404 for his 20-food allergy panel. Through a local grocery chain that offers health screening, I can get our 90-food panels for $104 - a much better deal! Plus, it's always done by the same lab with the same cutoff values. So, even if you find an MD who will order the test, it may cost a lot more that way! There are also mail-order labs that you can use. HTH! Crystal

Guest guest
I think a standard is covered by most ins. I have Medicare and it wasn't in NJ. You should be able to get it from any doc .Typically a good MD who practices alternative and Integrative medicine will offer the test. You can also request a coupon from your doc that provides the test Saved me $100 ($400) see here: http://www.elisaact.com/test/nonhc/ Mike Macchiarella
