Guest guest
, how is HH a vascular disease? I watched my father in law die from it altho the death certificate said " liver cancer " , my ex has it, and one of my children has a high ferritin rate which she keeps under control by regularly donating blood and plasma. I underwent genetic testing for it and supposedly don't have the gene. Anything is possible but I just don't see it as a vascular disease. Cait > > > What do they have in common? Guest guest
In CCSVI the iron pools because of venous insufficiency. There are many symptoms of HH, some are shared with other diseases and it is often misdiagnosed. Transferritin is made in the liver and it binds with iron. The blood carries the iron where it needs to be but in people with HH there is an excess of iron either by not making enough transferritin, having damaged veins or some other anomaly. Having a phlebotomy is draining the blood from a vein. HH is genetic and though it may not be caused by vascular disease, veins are certainly involved in the disease process. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/mscured/message/45317 I'm sorry that you lost someone to HH. > , how is HH a vascular disease?
