The Indian Multi Sectoral Civil Society Alliance to Combat HIV / AIDS launched in Mumbai on 12th February, 2009 acknowledged the Peer out reach workers contribution to the National AIDS Control Program (NACP). The unanimous resolution of the funding members of APACHA India observed that the Peer out reach workers are the backbone of National HIV response. The resoulution further stated that " We strongly feel the need for increasing the remuneration for the services of the peer out reach workers immediately " @Many of the peer outreach workers are from the affected and infected communities and deserve additional care and support. When the remuneration of all the other administrators of HIV response have increased, reducing the remuneration of peer outreach workers is unfortunate, unjustified & unethical " . the resolution further observed. The civil society alliance APACHA India is the representative body of Asian People's Alliance for Combating HIV & AIDS (APACHA) is lead by a 22 member Executive Committee. Dr. Ashok Rau of Freedom Foundation is the Chairperson of APACHA India for next one year. Other members in the team are: Vice- President Noori Saleem, Vice- President Dr. Boby , Secretary- Mathew Mattam, Join Secretary- Sanghamitra Iyengar, Joint Secretary- Namita Nanda, Treasurer Dr. Sanjeev Kumar.
